No body, no crime.
True-crime fanatics had their magnifying glasses ready last week when a girl posted a screenshot from Google Street View to Facebook that appears to point out a person transporting a dead body.
The image’s uploader, known only as Tami, shared the June 2019 snap that shows a person pushing a bicycle along Kent Street in Akron, Ohio.
A protracted item appears to be wrapped in a gray tarp that’s tied to the bike at several points — whether it is a dead body, the human head may very well be hanging over the back tire.
“My niece showed [a photo] to me and I had it saved to my phone so I made a decision to make a journey to Kent St. on Google to be certain he was still there. The image is literally price a thousand words,” Tami wrote on Facebook, per Kennedy News and Media.
Web sleuths were quick to brighten the image and claim it showed “blood” on the person’s boots and hands, while some even wondered if the bizarre images had been reported to police.
The Aug. 23 post has been shared over a thousand times on Facebook.
“He has a body!” one user declared.
One other agreed and proclaimed: “Looks like a body.”
“Imagine walking a body down the road like that and seeing the dang Google automobile drive by you with all of the cameras on it,” a 3rd joked.
Viewers even claimed to have “cleared up” the image — with stunning results.
“I cleared up the image. Definitely looks like blood on his boots!” one person exclaimed.
One other replied: “True but who knows what holds the living of a homeless man. Perhaps a chopped-up body lol because I don’t see hips. This is absolutely weird/f – – ked.”
One added: “Oh my! I couldn’t get that clear of an image after I zoomed!”
“His knuckles though lol,” one other laughed.
Locals speculated that the body-bag-looking object could actually be a tent, as homeless people have pitched tents on a road adjoining to Kent Street.
“There was a homeless tent city over there for a couple of years. I’m guessing it’s a tent,” someone theorized.
“Let’s hope it’s a tent, not a body,” one other stated.
A Facebooker added: “That’s gotta be a tent or something. That may’t be what it looks like, right!?”
The Post has contacted the Akron Police Department and Google for comment.
As of Thursday, Google has blurred the person’s face and the mysterious object pictured at 126 Kent St.
