With Derek Jeter in on Fox Sports biggest baseball pregame shows, Frank Thomas is officially out, The Post has learned.
Thomas had been with Fox Sports for nearly a decade. He had been a component of Fox’s biggest pregame shows, including the World Series and All-Star game, teaming with Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and host Kevin Burkhardt in recent times.
Jeter will take his place, debuting in June on the London Series, working the All-Star Game in July then the playoffs in October.
Thomas, a Hall of Famer, also did some FS1 pregames, which Jeter won’t take part in. In February, Recent York Post Sports Plus first reported that Thomas’ spot was in jeopardy resulting from Jeter’s arrival.
Thomas was not included in Fox’s analyst announcement for the upcoming season.
There aren’t any further negotiations.
“Frank has been an integral member of the FOX MLB studio team for nearly a decade and has helped raise the bar on our coverage while constantly growing the sport of baseball,” a Fox Sports spokesman said in a press release to The Post on Saturday. “Although he will not be a component of our coverage this season, ‘The Big Hurt’ will all the time be a member of our Fox Sports family and we wish him all one of the best in his future endeavors.”
