Finland is debating whether to stop issuing tourist visas to Russians amid outrage over Moscow’s ongoing war in Ukraine. Russia’s warnings to Finland over its NATO bid have also heightened tensions between the two nations. Helsinki remains the only EU member to grant tourist visas to Russian citizens. The Kremlin warned that Moscow “will react very negatively” if Helsinki follows the footsteps of its neighbors like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Restricting tourism to Europe is Putin's plan. He insinuates that Europeans are evil and hate Russians. I believe that these decisions will back up his words. Europe should instead send tourism money publicly to support Ukraine. Banning tourism for Russians will only have bad consequences I think 🤔

Every country in the world 🌎 should now realise the universal need to make Putin's Russia 🇷🇺 a total and complete failed state. Where nothing; No money 💰, No loans No technology, No commerce, absolutely nothing enters or leaves Russia 🇷🇺. Where Russia 🇷🇺 is excluded from every organisation across the world expelled from the UN Security Council, General Assembly and the G20/G8. I actually wish that more Russians will leave Russia and live in other countries, especially EU countries. Russia already has a low population. They can improve the EU's economy and deteriorate Russia's.
I am reading your posts and wonder what russians have to do to all this. Why you want to punish us. Putin doesnt ask people what to do. For any disagreement from 7-20 years jail term.
All Russians should be barred from the EU, UK, and many other countries. It would make them focus on what a war does and the consequences.
In fact, Russians don't give a damn about EU travel bans, since 80% of Russia's population has never been abroad in their lives. What will these bans do? Nothing! From bans and sanctions more harm to the EU countries themselves!

Imagine thinking that Putin cares about Russians going to Europe or that will change anything for good, it’s just another fuel for anti-European-NATO-USA hate and another argument for Putin’s supporters. My friend who highly opposes the war, donated money to Ukrainian families, made sandwiches to Ukrainians in Russia, etc he was furious because European Union proposed the idea that there are no collective resposibility i.e on Nuremberg trials German citizens were not put in jail or anything and matter of fact Germany was a totalitarian country, so it wasn’t only for the leader but also active people. Opposed to that we are here with Russia which is authoritarian regime with most of the people not supporting the war in any way and not influencing the government’s decisions. Putin is the one who decided to start the war, not Russian people. There quite a lot of Russians who oppose the war and because of that they needed to leave the country or else they’ll be put in prison. Now they will not be able to leave Russia into Europe in any way.
Let’s forget how unfair blaming 140 million people in Russia for putin’s decisions, tell me how this will help us to stop the war?

You can't just ban all civilians from a country because you disagree with their military, and if you do, you should apply it consistently to all countries who invade.
Sure Finland ban the tourists if you want to but do it after thinking about your country first not the EU and not the NATO cuz at the end of the day you are the one that borders Russia not Germany and not France so do it for yourself.

Absolutely Russians should be banned from entering the EU. Putin's invasion of Ukraine on the 24th February has put the whole world in jeopardy. Not least massive energy and food prices causing many countries to fall into recession. Imagine Russian tourists sitting on the beach at the same time innocent Ukrainian women and children are being killed by Russian missiles. Keep them out.

My thought is this…I think part of Putin’s plan is to hold his citizens captive in Russia like during the Cold War. But this way, he can blame it on Europe, but secretly this was his plan all a long.

I agree with the Visa ban. When the Russian people start getting control of the atrocities their government is responsible for and apologies and restitution are made then possibly Russians can have more freedoms. This may take many many years.

That poor man would be disappointed that he could not enjoy Finlands lakes. Mean while Ukraine can not enjoy their own country and a peaceful life. No more visas anywhere in EU, USA, Canada, Japan or any reasonable nation. Isolate them and then they will realize that it is their responsibility. Why talk about restricting Russian visas in Europe? This is throwing away an opportunity to pierce the Russian shield of misinformation and send people (other than wounded soldiers) back to Russia with truths to spread. Even a few billboards along the road to the border could make a difference. Maybe require incoming tourists to see a short video. Most Russians aren't that different from you, they've just been fed a false reality by their media. Treating Russian citizens as enemies won't help to do anything but make the current Russian regime and agenda stronger.
