As Europe slogs deeper into the summer season, countries across the continent were hit this week by droughts, heatwaves and wildfires. But there are more reasons to sweat: Russia continues to play with gas supplies to the European Union. Building on plans to get off Russian gas, European leaders now want to cut gas consumption by 15% to save up for the colder months. But not everyone’s on board. And what would such a move mean for Russia?

The EU makes me laugh, they want to get off coal but don't want to expand nuclear, which is one of the cleanest fuels out there.
When it is winter, I welcome the Europeans to come visit Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other big Russian cities. We have cheap energy and water, it's always 22°C in our homes and they are beautiful and modern cities
