Dolly Parton isn’t interested by artificially extending her time on Earth with an AI hologram or other technology.
The 77-year-old country music megastar was asked during a London press conference if she would consider producing a concert with a virtual version of herself that may be used posthumously as hologram performances.
“I feel I’ve left a fantastic body of labor behind,” Parton said, in keeping with the Independent. “I even have to come to a decision how much of that high-tech stuff I need to be involved [with] because I don’t want to depart my soul here on this earth.
“I feel with some of these things I’ll be grounded here eternally… I’ll be around, we’ll find ways to maintain me here.”
The singer-songwriter who was promoting her forthcoming album “Rockstar” also had some fun with the query of artificial intelligence.
She joked that all the things about her — including “any intelligence” is artificial either way, the outlet reported.
Parton is putting behind her country roots to try on the rock genre for her latest album which can be released on Nov. 17.
The “Jolene” singer collaborated with many music greats like Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Lizzo, Pink and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.
Parton decided to swap genres and provides rock a shot after she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last 12 months.
She initially planned to “respectfully bow out” on the dignity because she said she didn’t think she had “earned that right.”
With “Rockstar,” Parton said she hopes to “live as much as the dignity” as a substitute.
