Comedian David Walliams issued an apology over the “disrespectful comments” he made about “Britain’s Got Talent” contestants.
The “Little Britain” star, 51, was caught making sexually explicit and offensive remarks during a taping of the hit British talent show, a leaked transcript of the episode seen by The Guardian shows.
Walliams allegedly made the remarks during an audition show in January 2020 in London. His derogatory comments were picked up by a microphone placed on desks intended to choose up on conversations amongst judges.
“I would really like to apologize to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020,” he said in a press release, in accordance with BBC News.
“These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I’m sorry.”
The “Come Fly With Me” star, who has served as one in all the show’s 4 judges since 2012, called one contestant a “c–,” before referring to a different woman as “the marginally boring girl you meet within the pub that thinks you need to f–k them, but you don’t.”
He was then recorded saying, “I do know, she’s similar to: ‘Oh, f–k off!’ I used to be saying, she thinks you need to f–k her, but you don’t. It’s the last item in your mind, but she’s like: ‘Yep, I bet you do!’ ‘No I don’t! I had a little bit of a boner, but now it’s going, it’s now shriveled up inside my body.’”
In keeping with the outlet, Walliams’ lawyers argued against the transcripts being published, saying the comments weren’t intended for broadcast and may remain as private conversations.
“Although referring to a personal conversation almost three years ago, the language used was inappropriate,” a spokesperson for Thames told The Post. “Although it was private, those involved have been spoken to and reminded of their responsibilities and the show’s expectations as to future skilled conduct.”
The judging panel on the time consisted of Walliams, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon, nevertheless, Walliams was the just one to make offensive comments, The Guardian reports.
The Post has reached out to reps for Walliams for further comment.
