Colts owner Jim Irsay is being treated for a “severe respiratory illness,” the team said in an announcement on Tuesday morning.
“While this unfortunately means he won’t give you the chance to perform along with his band this week in Los Angeles, he’s receiving excellent care and appears forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible,” the statement said. “We’ll haven’t any additional information right now and we ask that you just respect the privacy of Jim and his family as he recovers.”
Irsay has not been seen in public in weeks, in keeping with ESPN Colts reporter Stephen Holder.
The 64-year-old will likely be considered one of the more-visible owners within the league, and is kind of outspoken.
His band known as The Jim Irsay Band, and its next scheduled show is Thursday in Los Angeles on the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.
The concert also features a showcase of things from The Jim Irsay Collection.

On the football field, Irsay’s Colts missed the playoffs with a 9-8 record after losing at home to the AFC South champion Texans in Week 18.
Irsay made headlines earlier this yr for saying his 2014 DUI arrest stemmed from him being “prejudiced against because I’m a wealthy white billionaire.”
He then threatened to sue “First Take” after host Kimberly Martin ripped him for his comments.
