Family members showered Bruce Willis with a heartfelt rendition of the “Completely satisfied Birthday” song on the retired actor’s 68th birthday Sunday.
Video of the special serenade was posted to Instagram by Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore and shows his daughters and wife Emma Heming Willis hitting the high notes, with Willis even joining in for a number of seconds.
The “Sixth Sense” and “Die Hard” actor was then seen blowing out candles to a birthday cake only a month after it was revealed he was battling frontotemporal dementia.
After the candles went out, his family began cheering “hip-hip hooray” for the storied performer.
“Completely satisfied birthday, BW!” Demi Moore wrote within the caption. “So glad we could have fun you today. Love you and love our family. Thanks everyone for the love and warm wishes – all of us feel them.”
Willis and Moore share adult daughters Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah Willis, 29. Willis and Emma Heming Willis share two young kids, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8.
Willis’ family announced he was diagnosed with dementia in February, a couple of yr after his fight against aphasia was revealed that led him to step away from acting.
“While that is painful, it’s a relief to finally have a transparent diagnosis,” the family said in a press release shared on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website.
Emma Heming Willis earlier within the day posted an emotional Instagram reel about how she is feeling grief and sadness on the actor’s first birthday for the reason that dementia diagnosis. She said she began the day crying, but noted she must be strong for her daughters and husband.
“I do have times of sadness, daily, grief daily, and I’m really feeling it today on his birthday,” Emma said.
Partially of the caption, she wrote: “The silver lining or the flip side is that I’m so lucky to feel your warmth and love that’s directed to my husband and our family.”
Willis’ wife also posted one other video montage on Instagram Sunday featuring Willis with family.
A part of her caption read, “He’s pure love. He’s loved. And I’ll be loving him all the time.”
