the 2nd amendment is for the right to form a well regulated militia that is armed. NOT for idiots to have guns. and being you are not forming a militia, and that we have one already, Reserve Military, there is no need for the amendment anymore.

    It's a Democrat ploy

This was NO accident…and Bonta is FULL OF IT…he was likely thrilled. A lot of these folks were judges and law enforcement professionals. Monitor your credit??? the state should pay for services for 5 years for that, it was their error!

I hope my name isn't on that list. I better get rid of all my guns before a bunch of anti-gun nuts show up to do me and my family harm.

Hundreds of thousands of peoples ssn, birthdays, addresses. Putting lives in danger, and risking identity theft. People need to go to prison for this.

Doxing brought to you by the democrat party of California.

What I'd like to know is why this data is not stored in and encrypted format in the first place! In this day and age there is no excuse for it not to be! This should never have been stored in this manner and shows total incompetence! The same thing goes for companies storing credit card data and other personal information in the equivalent of text files and then acting surprised when they get hacked! We have encryption capabilities that have even been built into windows for over a decade! Maybe someone should learn how to use them! How pathetic!

    Typical screw up from California.

Attention All Criminals!: Here is a list of the houses and people you don't want to F with! Cross them off your list before you plan your next burglary for a safer criminal endeavor! Please vote democrat so we can help insure the safety and comfort of all criminals in the future!

Can a law-firm firm that wants to go deep pockets please find a way of suing the state of California for this outrageous breach! Class action lawsuit would be nice! This was a planned Liberal event, no accident! The California AG is a joke!!!

  14. Chris Pacman Jones says:

This is why 2A advocates push back against gun registries. The abuse of power from those in power who would use them to single out gun owners.

  15. John3:16 God loves you says:

This was not a "data breach". On June 27, 2022, the California DOJ announced publicly that they were going to release firearms owners information via their new 2022 Firearms Dashboard Portal "To increase transparency and information sharing." You might want to check this out on their website before they take it down. 24 hours later, the Firearms Dashboard Portal went down without explanation after the media started to cover this scandal. This was a political move that seriously miscalculated the ramifications of such an egregious act. This is exactly why firearms registries should not be allowed. Now, law abiding citizens and their families are at risk of being targeted by criminals in addition to identity theft.

  16. Lance Deem says:

The whole group should be relieved of their positions period

  17. sfnative62 juju says:

Time for a mega class action lawsuit. This was completely intentional. Just liberal and progressive politicians having a passive-aggressive hissy fit.

All of California's illegal gun "laws" are gone out the window. Let the leftists tears flow in rivers and streams and relieve the Democratic drought so we can all go swimming in Freedom this summer 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  20. Frank Butta says:

California antigun groups have been taking about doing this for several years. NOT A MISTAKE!

  21. John Wick says:

CA DOJ willingly provided sensitive information of the CCW holders and gun owners to the potential criminals.
Identity theft is the least of our worries.

  22. DCL 308 says:

This leak is MUCH WORST than what is being reported. The data that was "accidentally" released was not limited to those who applied for a Concealed Carry Weapon permit, it included DROS (Dealers Record Of Sales) for the past 10 years. All authorized gun dealers in California must complete and submit to the DOJ a DROS for all firearm sales. This means anyone who legally purchased a firearm had their detailed personal/confidential information, including their legal name, residential address, date of birth, birthplace, SSN, DL Number, gender, age, height, weight, and race exposed as well.

And there you have it folks. People don't trust their governments because they obviously cannot be trusted. If my information was out there I'd be furious!
