Well vaccine mandates banned hundreds of thousands of people without covid from working and the vaccinated spread the virus like wildfire.. Seems Australia really screwed up big time and did the opposite of what they should have, stuck in the lie though now hey..

How pathetic are these people. We all know mandates have caused the labour shortages

  5. Vote 1 LNP on 26 Nov says:

Let the unvaccinated work, then. It’s documented that 99% of cases end in recovery. If that’s not good enough for you then you’re neurotic, paranoid and should be locked up with no voting rights. Your ignorance has done enough damage 😎

  6. Parker says:

Yeah we get it, both the "left" and the "right" are going to come together and scream for more migrants.

  7. Viv Rowe says:

We have too many now. Get those people off welfare, they never work. Stuff you lady, we will be trying to get food soon because there will be a problem with Diesel just like overseas. All planned and working beautifully.

This "big labour shortage” is nothing more than desire to import cheap labour to save corporate money by not having to train Aussies and keep wages low.
News Corp has little interest in helping Aussies workers. They have been pushing this line for a long time.

She is arguing for 70% 'skilled' migration. We must be running out of uber and taxi drivers again.

  15. vinody says:

Rubbish! This is just wage crushing. We should only take about 70k people a year.

  16. Leith Mark says:

    Both countries have Labor governments…
    Labor = Fabian Socialism.
Expect to hear that the ‘solution’ involves socialist dependency policies of some kind, and reciprocal ‘obligations’ like compelled labor, social credit scores, monitor-able cashless welfare, some kind of tracking app etc…
    get ready for it

  17. Mike Spike says:

Remove mandates and upskill/invest in AUSSIES!!

Well we are importing UK Dr's into Qld and waiving the skills upgrading.
Are we struggling without our "slaves". We showed the world how poor the country is managed from lockdowns, vaccine mandates and even tennis players so many dont want to come here anymore. So the solution is being robbed from other countries so they cant be treated poorly. Get all those woman to save us.

  29. Rabids Minions says:

Australian born people need to be trained to do the work required, also unvaccinated not being able to work added to the shortage. Importing workers is not the answer as hundreds of thousands of overseas born workers have left the country, it wasn't Australian born workers who left the country. Importing workers creates housing demand which pushes up prices, which makes it hard for families to afford to rent and buy a home this pushes up the cost of living. When the cost of living goes up couples cannot afford to have as many kids. Which is where we are now as less kids are being born which means less workers 20 years down the track. In 2002 it was 1.76 babies per woman, in 2020 it was 1.58.
