Austin Butler attended the twenty eighth annual Critics Alternative Awards Sunday, days after the death of Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
The “Elvis” star was nominated for best actor for his role within the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic, which details the lifetime of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Butler mourned the lack of Elvis’ only daughter Thursday after Lisa Marie died on the age of 54.
It’s his first public appearance since her death.
“My heart is totally shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper and Priscilla on the tragic and unexpected lack of Lisa Marie,” Butler said within the statement obtained by Fox News Digital on Friday.
“I’m eternally grateful for the time I used to be lucky enough to be near her shiny light and can perpetually cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will all the time be remembered.”
Lisa Marie and her mother Priscilla were within the audience Tuesday on the eightieth annual Golden Globes. Presley was seen applauding Butler, who won an award for best actor in a drama movie for his performance depicting her father within the 2022 musical drama “Elvis.”
Butler used his acceptance speech to thank Lisa Marie and Priscilla, who were sitting together together with his sister, Ashley.
“Thanks for opening your hearts, your memories and your house to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I really like you perpetually,” he said. A teary-eyed Lisa Marie covered her face, patted her heart and applauded.
Luhrmann took to Instagram to share a caption alongside a photograph of Butler sitting beside Lisa Marie.
“Over the past yr, your entire ‘Elvis’ movie family and I actually have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s kind embrace. Her sudden, shocking loss has devastated people all world wide. I do know her fans all over the place join me in sharing prayers of affection and support along with her mother, Priscilla, and her wonderful daughters Riley, Finley and Harper,” he wrote.
“Lisa Marie, we’ll miss your warmth, your smile, your love.”
Lisa Marie was the one daughter of Elvis and Priscilla, and had a half brother, Navarone Garibaldi, from Priscilla’s 20-year relationship with Marco Garibaldi.
Elvis sold over 500 million records worldwide in his decades-long profession and is recognized by Guinness World Records because the best-selling solo artist of all time.
She is survived by daughter, Riley Keough, from her first marriage to Danny Keough. She also has twins Harper and Finley with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
Her son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in July 2020 on the age of 27.
