Is Ariana Grande saying “Thank U, Next” to her manager, Scooter Braun?
Puck News reported Monday that Grande, 30, is following fellow pop star Demi Lovato’s lead in parting ways with the famed manager, whose roster also includes Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, Dan + Shay, and most famously, Justin Bieber.
Unidentified sources also confirm to Billboard, but an insider told The Post that the Grande rumor is solely not true.
The Post has contacted reps for Grande and Braun, 42, for comment.
Grande began working with Braun in 2013 with the discharge of her debut album, “Yours Truly.”
“The explanation I signed with him is because we had a gathering at my house, and he was equally as keen about my project as I used to be, if no more,” Grande told Elle in 2013, calling Braun “an incredible businessman.”
But their working relationship hasn’t been perfect. Grande temporarily fired Braun in February 2016 — a move Braun later chalked as much as “s—-y boyfriends.”
He told Variety in 2018, “With Ariana, I could have said lots of stuff, and in truth my team wanted me to, because they were pissed.”
“But I said, ‘We’re not gonna say a word, and that is gonna come back around,’” he continued. “They were like, ‘Never take her back!,’ but I just said, ‘Let’s stay quiet and let our truth be our actions.’”
He added: “And when s—-y boyfriends leave, she starts to see the sunshine on some stuff, and at some point I got a phone call. She said, ‘Can I see you tomorrow?,’ and I said, ‘No, I’m busy’ — I actually couldn’t, so I said, ‘I could see you Thursday,’ or whatever, and I went over there and we had a really honest conversation.”
He was also vital in putting on a profit concert in Manchester just two weeks after the May 2017 fatal terrorist attack that unfolded outside Grande’s concert.
“That relationship we had, from being fired to getting back together, really gave us the strength for what he never imagined would come that following yr,” Braun told Variety.
For her part, a source near Lovato, who turned 31 on Sunday, told The Post that while she is thankful for her time with Braun’s SB Projects firm, the previous Disney star is seeking to go in a latest direction.
She split from Braun last month.
