Amanda Bynes has been placed on a compulsory psychiatric hold after being declared a danger to herself and others.
The troubled former child star, 37, was placed on the 5150 hold after she turned herself in to police in Los Angeles Saturday morning, TMZ reports.
Bynes purportedly called the cops of her own volition to report that she was in significant distress. By law, she will now be held against her will for as much as 72 hours.
The “She’s The Man” star is battling her mental health, having been placed on a separate psychiatric hold earlier this 12 months.
Back in March, Bynes was found roaming the streets of LA naked.
The struggling actress allegedly flagged down a automobile with none clothes on and told the driving force that she was coming down from a psychiatric episode before calling 911 on herself.
She was subsequently placed on a 5150 hold and was hospitalized for nearly three weeks.
On the time, the starlet’s ex-fiancé, Paul Michael, claimed she had been “off her meds.”
It is usually believed that she was living “on the streets for days” before she telephoned the cops.
Bynes — who has struggled with substance abuse and bipolar disorder — was free of an eight-year conservatorship in March 2022.
The recent health episodes have alarmed longtime fans of the star who’ve followed her since she began appearing on Nickelodeon within the late Nineties.
The California-born star appeared within the sketch comedy “All That” before securing her own wildly popular series titled “The Amanda Show.”
Bynes’ success continued into the 2000s, with lead roles in box-office hits including “She’s the Man” (2006), “Hairspray” (2007) and “Easy A” (2010).
Nevertheless, in 2012 Bynes was charged with DUI before she was arrested the next 12 months on charges of reckless endangerment and marijuana possession.
That very same 12 months, 2013, the actress was hospitalized on her first psychiatric hold after she allegedly began a hearth on a stranger’s driveway.
Bynes’ mother was later granted a conservatorship over the star’s affairs; that conservatorship was finally terminated last 12 months.
Sources near the actress told TMZ that the star doesn’t have a giant support system in her life and only sees her siblings and fogeys “every now and then.”
Bynes had reportedly been living alone since her release from the hospital this past April and was “sad” and “isolated.”
