Margot Robbie, 33, doesn’t think there will likely be a sequel to the large summer hit “Barbie.”
“I feel we put all the pieces into this one,” Robbie recently told the Associated Press when asked a couple of potential follow-up. “We didn’t construct it to be a trilogy or something.”
“It was like, Greta [Gerwig] put all the pieces into this movie, so I can’t imagine what can be next,” she added.
“Barbie,” which also stars A-listers similar to Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Helen Mirren, and America Ferrera, follows the favored Mattel doll (Robbie) as she is forced to journey to the actual world after she begins to “malfunction” by developing cellulite and experiencing death anxiety while living within the utopian Barbieland.
“I’d say the largest takeaway for me is that original movies can still hit huge on the box office,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” star continued to the AP. “It doesn’t should be a sequel or a prequel or a remake. It will possibly be totally original. It will possibly still be big given the large budget to do this.”
Robbie also stressed that having a female lead was not as vital as a number of the movie’s critics made it out to be.
