Queues of passengers snaking through some European airports are a familiar sight. Some airlines are advising people to turn-up for check-in four to five hours early.
Passenger volumes are at almost pre-pandemic levels but staffing isn’t.

I love aljazeera… They will directly says whose fault…rather than push around
how convenient to blame the pandemic. No credibility at all.
Corporate greed – that is the only problem
I’m going to visit my grandma and for that I need to go to heathrow… I couldn’t see her for three years so I hope my flight won’t get cancelled….
Pro-tip: avoid populated areas
That’s why I am staying home 😂 that’s the solution right now
Europe.
Does your life depend on international air travel? If the answer is 'no', then this issue won't affect you.
good for these workers striking for better wages.
Can the UK send in the army to help at LHR? …or too many cut backs there too? Vietnam would do that on day 1.
Airlines keep getting bailed out and the service SUCKS more every year! Glad they are breaking down! New companies need to rise and do it better!
Europe is in a mess going back to the Dark Ages European leaders dumb dumb
I was in Amsterdam Schiphol airport 2 weeks ago and it’s a nightmare – I waited 3 hours inside Royal Air Maroc aircraft while we waited for the passengers waiting to make it thru and board our flight-
Chaos at is best!
A perfect storm is brewing 🌪️
Let's be realistic – 6 Euro like Ryanair charges is NOT a real price. So this all is expected, europeans also complain having such an amazing options to travel 🤦 even by car or train. Almost impossible in most of countries
Do not go back to work. Stay Home.
Stay home.

You all forgot the vaccine mandates
Travelling by plane now has no longer any drop of romantism or theb glamour as before…they are now just flying ordinary buses with a lot of control and still has to pay a lot for it…
I can confirm…mostly guy from London telling truth nd good facts :…but people should open the eyes — first of all where LHR will find 12 000 staff (they confirmed they need this amount) that even won't be in next year…so why they force airline cancel flights nd not to selling tickets til sept?after that won't b miracle!!
Working at the airport anywhere u need airport ID pass which takes months to do it…they ll check criminal record.its not click and go🤨.
Another thing is airport DIDNT REHIRE people they just lay off INSTEAD of put more on furlough!
That's all secret.
Please don't blame airline coz checkin staff or baggage handlers etc ARE NOT working for airlines…even when u see Qatar Airways staff or Emirates they r NOT WORKING for airlines directly..they r ground staff often working via airports companies. Only British A or Virgin Atlantic working directly from airline.
finally a problem not causes by islamic people in europe hahahah so you can relax al jazeera ( and not even call us racists for a few moments hahaha )
one answer AUTOMATION
Ineffeciency, greed and incompetence.
Staff attrition so that top mgmt can swollow exorbitant fares slapped on passengers
The experts blurting out here are impotent bums
I agree that C19 started this mess AND no one or country had experienced anything like this before BUT once everyone rec'd the 'go ahead', airlines knew they didnt have the staff to service the # of people but were so desperate to make up $ losses from being shutdown/restricted. Worst – mngt thought it was appropriate to fire staff that would not get vax'd. When you tell anyone this – you permanently lost that person – why work for a tyrant, if they forced you to keep your job by use of threat then the thing to do to say screw you! And that's what companies put people in. When all they had to was tell the unvax'd get swabbed every 2 days to test and wear a mask … staff would have been affected but not as bad as this PLUS this includes other important occupations such as hospitals, police, fire departments. ultimatums never never work …
Never at any time can anyone shut down the world econmy without having severe repercussions. Start back ups will always show the systems weakness and mistakes … now the countries can see they can shutdown their countries guaranteed they will do it again
Pay the workers properly and cut management. ✂️ So glad I decided not to head for Europe this summer 😅.
Blame these health officials who FORCED EMPLOYEES TO GET VACCINATED OR LOOSE YOUR JOB .
Build more rail services everywhere especially in Canada and USA
What are the limits of consciousness? The cheapest way to travel is walking on your own. Why no highways and cars? Have you seen forests there with WILD NATURE? Somewhere in the mountains supposedly left something not cheap. And in the oceans…… Oh yeah at least 99,99999999999999999999999999(9) percent of the planet survived! Not a bad beda for today.
The green new deal, agenda 2030, fascist esg movement
WHY is there never any mention of the COVID VACCINE MANDATES? I think this is the real reason? Most were laid off or fired over the mandates hence the "shortage of workers"?
7:45 smoking indoors at airport
Yes . The upper management like the slower pace and continued high salary . They’re procrastinating and no accountability to the world citizens
