A SHOCKWAVE THROUGH US.
Neal started something really special with Shockwave. Him, his family and crew brought a lot of joy to my family and many others over the years. The heartbreak of all of us fans there that day can not be expressed properly. It's a funny thing to be nothing more than a fan. Yet feel such a loss. It must be the smiles of the family and the eye contact they always gave. Chris walked along the fence that morning. He had a joy in his step and beamed a smile. I know for a fact he had know idea who I was. But when I pointed him out to my grandson. He nodded, smiled and gave a little wave, like old friends would.
I can't imagine the families pain. I hope they take solace in knowing so many of us who's lives have been blessed by Neal, his family and his crew. Morn with them that so great of loss that Chris is to everyone.
Chris went out at 300 mph with his tail on fire. I just wonder if he had to go, that wouldn't be his choice if given one?

He will be missed as much as he was appreciated.

If you replay one of these videos from a different angle you can see in slow motion that before he went through the fireball the rear end gave out causing his truck to go to the right and started rolling very fast throwing debris everywhere.

I have known of this jet truck and driver for many years. My sincerest prayers and condolences to his family and friends. What a horrible way to go. God bless you all, and remember that although too soon, he was doing what he loved, which is what many of us will not be able to say.

Trucks are designed to carry goods. It's not a plane or a rocket. It can be too hard to control. Chris was not invincible after all.

The really amazing part is they've never had a accident like this ever. The thousands of safe runs theyve made in that truck show how professional and dialed in the crew is. Any vehicle weighing 10,000 lbs going over 300 mph is on the verge of disaster every time. God speed.
