What if their mom had an abortion. Then they would not be here to walk. Most stayed!😄😄😀

  2. Richard Chappell says:

Those that walked out expressed their disagreement with the university. They should have their acceptance revoked so they can find a career that more aligns with their ideals.

Not happy with this at all. Medicine is all about accepting people from a broad range of backgrounds and listening to their opinions and showing empathy. Her speech had nothing to do with her views, and it's always good to consider beliefs that may challenge your own. This is just disrespectful, particularly since her speech had zero relevance to abortion.
What about when they're in the clinic and they meet someone with vastly different views to them. Perhaps their patient voted for a different political candidate. Are they just going to walk out there too? This culture of intolerance is toxic…

Grow up you weak students who can’t tolerate opposing views. She wasn’t even there to talk about her personal views. You are what is strong with this country.

And the medical community wonders why the public's view of the profession has PLUMMETED in recent years… let this group of ignorant, spoiled little brats who cannot tolerate a dissenting view on any topic serve as exhibit A. Take control of your own health and avoid medical "care" from political ideologues disguised as physicians.

I wonder if these students will walk out on caring for patients with different views? 🤔

She is not an " anti abortion speaker ". The White Coat Ceremony has nothing to do with abortion, and Dr. Collier's speech had nothing to do with abortion. Fox 2 Detroit, you suck as journalists.

Those med students that walked out, should face consequences. I would never want any of them to be my doctor. Intolerance has no place in the practice of medicine and these student's actions display a trait no one should want in their physician.

I will give no deadly medicine to any one if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give to a woman a pessary to produce abortion. With purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practice my Art.

OK sane people, I know you're busy but hear me out…….
REMEMBER, NOVEMBER MIDTERMS ARE COMING. Your vote could make all the difference, talk with your friends and family and encourage them to vote.
HOLD YOUR LOCAL AND STATE REPRESENTATIVES TO ACCOUNT. Find out where each candidate stands on the key issues that matter to you, not what you're told you should care about by media hacks, (here's a hint, gay teachers or trans women aren't after your kids and there's a big difference between gun control and banning guns🙄).
"MY PARTY NO MATTER WHAT,"…… NO LONGER WORKS.
THEY CAN ONLY GET AWAY WITH CRAP LIKE THIS IF YOUR SILENCE GIVES THEM CONSENT.
MAKE SURE YOU'RE REGISTERED AND MAKE SURE YOU VOTE. It's literally life and death now.
Remember why you're voting. FRIGHTENED AND TRAUMATIZED LITTLE 10 YEAR OLD GIRLS, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS AND ANYONE WHO BUYS GROCERIES WILL THANK YOU……Rant over have a good one.

  34. Chris Zamora says:

Med students take an oath during that ceremony "Do no harm". This speaker has done tremendous harm. They were 100% right to walk out on their colleague.

  35. Julia Dannelley says:

From one doctor to another, I applaud your actions. Here’s the deal: I am not for abortion for myself. What I am for is access to contraception and family planning.I will stand by my patient who is raped, trapped in a violent marriage, facing a nonviable fetus. a serious risk to their health, incest and a plethora of other situations that “pro-life” activists have never found themselves. Pregnant people should have the bodily autonomy to decide for themselves the outcome of their lives. There are so many unintended consequences of anti-abortion laws. I am seeing more and more medicines labeled as not recommended for women of childbearing age. Will now not treat for diabetes and hypertension? Will we see the life expectancy of women decline? And what about taking women out of the work force? There will be an exacerbation of labor shortages, decline of GDP, greater demand for welfare, worsening of childhood poverty, strain on schools, and eventual worsening of crime rates There will also be further strains on multigenerational households. Who will care for the elderly?
