Travis Hunter now holds the keys to the 2025 NFL Draft.
After Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker on Wednesday mentioned their refusal to “pass on a generational talent” with the No. 1 pick within the 2025 draft, Hunter would look like the massive winner.
Bettors were listening, and so they slammed Hunter to go No. 1 overall, as BetMGM Sportsbook‘s odds on Hunter went from +1500 to +150 on Wednesday.
“Travis Hunter’s odds movement to be the first pick within the NFL draft shows how unique this betting market is,” BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini told The Post. “Odds and motion will change based off just a couple of words. We’ve got seen significant betting on Hunter because the comments made (Wednesday) by Titans executives.”
ESPN BET has also seen an explosion of betting interest for Hunter, whose odds also moved from +1500 to +150, while Ward is available in at -105.
“We’ve seen an uptick in betting interest around the primary overall pick as team needs and latest hirings come into focus,” Adrian Horton, Director of North American Sports Trading for ESPN BET, told The Post. “It’s been mostly Travis Hunter motion within the last 24 hours, with about 60% of bets and handle on him, and we’ve moved our odds accordingly.”
Each of the teams picking in the highest three — Titans (No. 1), Browns (No. 2) and Giants (No. 3) — are expected to heavily consider quarterbacks, with Hunter’s Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders (+450), also expected to be picked near the highest of the draft.
Stud Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter also moved from 12/1 to +600 on BetMGM.

Brinker’s not-so-subtle hint provides some intrigue into what he called “a pivotal moment for this team.”
ESPN’s Mel Kiper has said that Hunter is the “best player on this draft” and projected the Cleveland Browns to pick him at No. 2 overall in his latest mock.

Kiper’s latest mock draft has the Titans choosing Miami quarterback Cam Ward, although that was before Brinker’s comments regarding a generational talent.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter added that the recent Titans comments are bad news for the Patriots, who were hoping to land one in every of Hunter or Carter with the No. 4 overall pick.

“The defensive lineman from Penn State or the wide receiver/cornerback from Colorado,” Schefter said of his projection for the Titans’ pick in an interview with Recent England radio station WEEI. “That quote told me that they usually are not locked into taking a quarterback at one. That is just not what Recent England desired to hear, that quote today.”

Kiper has Hunter, No. 1 on his big board, followed by Carter, with Sanders at No. 4 and Ward at No. 5.
Hunter won the Heisman this season and played each cornerback and receiver for Colorado, tallying 96 catches for 1,258 yards for 15 touchdowns while intercepting 4 passes and defending 11.
