This wasn’t the wake-up call she’d planned.
A young female tourist was awoken when a hotel ceiling collapsed onto her in the midst of the night.
Alma Lagerstedt was sleeping in her bed when a loud crash jolted her awake at 3 am.
When she shot up, she realized the ceiling of her bedroom had fallen on her and now completely covered the room.
The 23-year-old was startled by the situation and immediately decided to record the scene to capture the craziness of what she experienced.
“ whenever you’re sleeping in your bed, and the f–king roof falls down on top of you?” she asked in a viral TikTok video.
“The entire f–king roof. Oh my God.”
Lagerstedt was shown standing within the small room, covered with a towel and surrounded by the rubble that was her former roof. She then flipped the camera around to point out the debris on her bed and scattered throughout.
She then turned her camera to where the ceiling was, showing just the remaining structure that was presupposed to uphold the shelter.
The Swede, who’s been traveling the world browsing and doing yoga, was staying at a hotel by Pandawa Beach in Bali when the incident happened.
“[After it happened] I took off to my friend’s house after which in a while moved my stuff to a different room,” she told Jam Press.
“I didn’t really wanna stay there anymore, so in the long run I got all of the a reimbursement, and I moved to a different place.”
Lagerstedt’s shocking stay could enter her into the competition for the “world’s unluckiest traveler.”
The teasing title, given out by a travel insurance provider, doesn’t just provide bad bragging rights — there’s a money prize of $10,000 for first place.
The sad sequences entered last 12 months, all available to read online, span from earthquakes and unsuitable airport dropoffs to french fry-stealing lizards.
Nevertheless, the award was given to a girl who was unceremoniously carried out of her Airbnb in a body bag — and lived to inform the story.
