Gun violence is on the rise because something is broken in people's minds. We can make intelligent gun laws, but there are so many guns already out there, that even laws made today might take years to get automatic rifles off the streets. We don't have years, so we have to look at what's wrong with the people doing these mass shootings and how we can heal hearts before they pick up a gun in the 1st place.

We need to look at what these people are watching and listening to. Something is poisoning their minds. This won't be something we can regulate, but is is something we can teach against and also boycott raido, tv and internet sites spewing hate, racism, political extreme and violence. This cannot be our entertainment because there are people who take it to extremes.

There is no reason that we cannot ban assault weapons. No reason. Assault weapons do not belong on our streets or in our communities. No justification other than the gun lobby that continues to push these weapons for profit. They are lethal. We ban formula from the grocery shelves if found to have any bad health effects on children. We ban people from driving if they refuse to wear safety belts. We have laws to protect the community that restrict certain "freedoms." You can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater. The freedom to own these assault weapons is a threat to every single community. Our freedom is being destroyed by the gun lobby's "freedom" to sell their weapons. We don't sell nuclear bombs to street gangs, right? The government needs to draw the line. It is time to BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS NOW.
