British media continues its bigoted coverage of the Tory leadership campaign. They report Sunak taking U-Turn in scrapping VAT on energy bills but no mention is made that Sunak had already scrapped VAT from the tourism and hospitality industries last year.
Why has the British media not questioned why Rishi Sunak being private school educated an issue for Liz Truss? Her boss, Boris Johnson is from the most elite private school and several MPs supporting Liz Truss are private school educated!?? Rishi has no idea about inflation. My parents had good jobs and earned £36 per week in the 1970's. How did they pay tax to get £150 per week pension?

Rishi was right about large companies dividend ing out profit to greedy shareholders as the large companies are not reinvesting that profit back into the economy he knows what he's talking about being an ex-Goldmansachs banker and an ex-hedge fund manager. Liz truss is just regurgitating what she's been told by her team and being poorly advised by out-of-whack economists like Minford which is not the economic consensus opinion. It's the middle class that grows the economy not large corporations with fat cat CEOs. He's right to ask the largest companies to pay a bit extra back to cut the deficit. Liz talked about the UK corporation tax being 10% higher than in Ireland. Ireland has 12% corporation tax but the companies in Ireland are just letterbox companies headquartered there that have the actual business operating in other parts of Europe. Ireland's economy is nowhere near as robust as the UK despite having a 12% corporation tax rate. The average Irish bloke does not have as good a quality of life as someone in the UK. Lowering taxes might provide some temporary relief in the short term but it'll lead to a higher deficit higher inflation and higher inflation will lead to higher interest rates and reduced growth. If Liz says she won't raise interest rates then the Bank of England will have to print sterling and buy UK guilts/treasuries (as the global market will sell UK treasuries off as is the case in Japan) to prevent the interest rates from going up (if the government decides to hold interest rates low) inflation will get worse and lead to a devaluation of the pound. You might not like Rishi but he's actually right on this one and Liz is pulling the wool over the eyes of the electorate just to get the keys to number 10 ! Oh and just to confirm Kwasi is either a liar or a baboon as he is propagating the BIG LIE.
