South-west France is facing a “heat apocalypse” say meteorologists, as extreme temperatures continue to hit much of Europe.
Temperatures are forecast to reach record levels in 15 regions of south-west France, as firefighters battle wildfires.
More than 24,000 people have been forced to leave their homes and emergency shelters have been set up accommodate them.
Blazes in Spain, Portugal and Greece are also affecting many thousands of people.
Gironde, a popular tourist region in southern France has been hit particularly badly, with fires raging through huge areas of woodland.

How many warnings do human beings need to accept that the current climate crisis we are facing is becoming a catastrophe….we live on an incredible planet ; the only world we know for sure ,has life on it and our species is placing in peril all the other life forms we share Earth with including our own ! We must take action now to protect and preserve what we have ! All talk of jobs and growth and the economy is ludicrous when we are creating an environment that will NOT sustain life ….
Sorry – but just don’t trust the media’s ‘apocalyptic’ narratives. Last week we were expecting an unprecedented death toll in the UK due to heat. This week I’ve had to wear my jumper to keep warm at work. Let’s focus on another country and keep the climate panic fuelled!

Drought most from coldness in and over sea decreasing the vaporisation. Most rain in tropical areas the cold poles are downfall deserts etc. Best against wild fires are controlled fires and maybe cloud seeding.
