Sen. Graham Proposes Bill To Ban Abortion After 15 Weeks Nationwide

"The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Even though abortions after 15 weeks are not common, this is still FRIGHTENING!

It frequently takes weeks to get the money, time off, transportation and childcare for an abortion. Not to mention clinics are scheduling several weeks out and many states have waiting periods between appts of up to 3 days. If you don’t find out your pregnant until the end of the first trimester, having to have an abortion after 15 weeks is very realistic.

Young victims and severely disabled women whose caregivers may not discover they are pregnant until well past 15 weeks?

Severe fetal anomalies and medical complications for the mother. What if an aggressive cancer is discovered at 16 weeks pregnant (this is not unheard off)? What is the patient going to do? Go to Canada?

This is actually popular as the majority of Americans feel 2nd trimester abortions should be illegal in most cases. Most feel 4 months is plenty of time for selective abortion.

Soooo…in Jackson Women’s Health Organization v. Dobbs the Supreme Court ruled that the Feds do not have the right via Roe v Wade to give women the right to abortion…and…that any such approval of rights must be returned to the States. This is NOW case law by a conservative populated Supreme Court, packed by McConnell.
Yet Graham, that confused old man from SC, says (correctly) we the Repubs will have a vote on a bill to pass a bill at the Federal level which would be already un-Constitutional per the Supreme Court.
GRAHAM: “I look forward to the debate. I look forward to the vote. If we take back the house and the Senate I can assure you, we'll have a vote on our bill. If the Democrats are in charge, I don't know if we'll ever have a vote on our bill.”
What he means to say is that the Repubs will have a vote on an un-Constitutional as well as a debate…nothing more…nothing less. Passage of any bill would be un-Constitutional once voted upon AND 46 would veto it, probably ? How can you pass an un-Constitutional bill whose concept has been deemed as un-Constitutional by the Supreme Court ?
What he's really saying is VOTE in November based on the deception of HIS emotional-to-voters statement and the Repubs will take the House and/or the Senate.

The women in my workplace united against Republicans after Graham's speech and some of these women are Republicans! Their favorite phrase is "Vote Blue in '22."

This is what controlled opposition looks like. RINO is not an accurate description of this man's efforts as this was clearly meant to motivate Dem voters.

All but 3 countries in Europe ban abortion after 15 weeks. This is not a controversial bill.

I guess he doesn't want his job either. How is he allowed? Ain't the DOJ, The Jan 6 committee and The State of Georgia looking up his nose with possible investigations? Maybe he's trying to deflect.
