
The town of Philadelphia rightly showered Saquon Barkley with loads of brotherly love on Friday, and the previous Giants star gave it back to Eagles fans and staffers throughout their championship parade and celebration.
The 28-year-old running back rushed for greater than 2,000 yards and earned his first profession Super Bowl ring in his initial season in Philly after leaving the Giants last 12 months in free agency.
“You possibly can’t use words to explain this. Each time I believe Philly can’t take it to a different level, they take it to a complete ‘nother level,” Barkley said during a television interview throughout the parade. “Me and my family are blissful and honored to be a component of this organization and a component of this city. Man, this team deserves all of it, and here we’re.
“You’re at one place, and you think that that’s where you ought to be and retire there, and life happens. I got here here and now I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else.”
The three-time Pro Bowler signed a three-year contract value $37.75 million with the Eagles in March after spending the primary six seasons of his NFL profession with the Giants.
Barkley was seen having fun with several personal interactions with people along the parade route, including posing for pictures with a three-year-old girl who held an indication showing it was her birthday.
The Penn State product also went viral for spotting an Eagles ball boy in the group and lifting him over the barricades to hitch the celebration.
And he brought one other fan named Ryan Quigley — an Eagles supporter and a Latest Orleans terrorist attack survivor — to the stage as he addressed the group.
“I is perhaps having an excessive amount of fun,” said Barkley, who had 97 total yards within the Eagles’ 40-21 victory over the Chiefs. “Each time I believe they’ll’t take it any further, they take it to a complete other level. It definitely exceeded expectations. Man, we got one of the best fans on the planet.”
