The Jets can have won within the short term after acquiring Aaron Rodgers from the Packers, but Robert Griffin III believes Recent York got “absolutely fleeced” within the blockbuster trade.

The previous NFL quarterback, 33, tweeted as much Monday after news broke that the Jets and Packers finally agreed on a deal that may end Rodgers’ time in Green Bay after 18 seasons.

“The Jets are BONAFIDE Super Bowl contenders now, but that doesn’t change the indisputable fact that they got ABSOLUTELY FLEECED on this trade. Packers are getting a greater fist [sic] round pick this 12 months, a 2nd rounder this 12 months, and a greater than likely 1st rounder next 12 months for 1-2 years of Rodgers,” Griffin posted.

The Jets swapped their first-round selection on this 12 months’s NFL draft, No. 13 overall, with the Packers, who were the owners of pick No. 15.

Green Bay can even receive a second-round pick on this 12 months’s draft, No. 42, in addition to a sixth-round selection, No. 207 overall.

The Packers also obtained a conditional pick in 2024 that may develop into a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays this season.

The trade

The Packers receive: No. 13 pick (2023), No. 42 pick (2023), No. 207 pick (2023) and a conditional second-round 2024 draft pick that conveys to a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65% of the Jets’ plays in 2023.

What comes next

The trade still must be finalized — the terms of Rodgers’ contract must be worked out — and sent to the NFL.

Each teams will begin feeling this deal as early as Thursday on the 2023 NFL Draft.

For the Packers, it’s now about getting fourth-year QB Jordan Love able to take over. With Gang Green, it’s about getting an entire host of latest faces on the identical page offensively.

“As we got through the offseason, this made sense … Having (Jordan Love) sit for one more 12 months would’ve really delayed (his development).”

Love, who played college football at Utah State, had served as Rodgers’ backup.

He saw some motion last season, most recently a 40-17 win over the Vikings in January.
