A person writing on Reddit has asked others for his or her insights into behavior connected to a highschool graduation — with plenty of individuals agreeing with the unique poster and calling out the opposite person for what they are saying is poor planning and inappropriate behavior.
Wrote the person on Reddit (no gender was given), “My nephews each graduated from highschool this morning and I wanted to sit down up front.”
So, “I camped out a bit in front of the doorway. I brought my folding camping chair and my headphones to hearken to my show,” the person wrote.
Then, “about 40 minutes before the varsity would allow us to inside, a pregnant woman got next to me, since anyone let her in line (I assume her partner),” wrote the Redditor.
Inside “five minutes,” added the person on Reddit — who goes by the username Constant_Tune4461 — the pregnant woman “asked me (politely, admittedly) if she could have my chair, as she was going to have trouble standing the entire time.”
The author on Reddit continued, “I said no, sorry, I want it more (bad feet/knees) and went back to my things.”
Continued the person on Reddit, “She asked me again inside two minutes and the reply was the identical.”
Then, nevertheless, the Reddit author said, the lady “got a bit of mad at me and said that she was going to be struggling the entire time and asked her partner to inform me.”
The Reddit author went on, “He asked me himself (politely) and I again responded that sorry, but I want[ed the chair] more and suggested she could wait of their automobile or simply sit in the bottom.”
At that time, wrote the person on Reddit, “the husband directly called me an as–hole but left me alone.”
So, said the author within the social media post, “Am I the a–hole?”
Fox News Digital reached out to a psychologist in regards to the drama for insight and perspective.
Dr. Jayme Albin, PhD, a clinical psychologist based in Recent York City, told Fox News Digital, “This pregnant woman and her partner were each clearly entitled and ill-prepared. I’d say they higher get on the ball soon if they’re going to be parents.”
Dr. Albin added, “In no situation is it OK for a stranger to impose his or her personal needs onto one other person’s resources or personal space.”
Added Dr. Albin, “It’s totally normal for pregnant women to have special needs and wish to feel special — but she was imposing herself on the fallacious person. These people have to apologize, and get organized!”
Meanwhile, some 19,000 people on Reddit reacted to the post — with over 3,000 posting comments about it.
One commenter was particularly blunt.
“I’m so bored with pregnant women considering the world revolves around them simply because they got knocked up,” said this person, clearly holding little back.
“She could have brought her own chair — she would have been comfortable.”
Yet “the arrogance and audacity of a pregnant woman demanding another person’s seat simply because she’s pregnant is unfortunately not surprising,” the person concluded.
Said one other commenter on the subreddit referred to as “Am I the a–hole,” “I mean, it was your chair that you purchased yourself. Not a public seating space. She will’t expect other people to present up their things for her.”
Added this individual, “At the tip of the day, she could also bring her own chair.”
The identical person also said, “I probably would [have given] up the seat to her. But I also don’t have any health problems. Why must you suffer along with your knees for remainder of the day and pay the worth for coming prepared?”
Wrote one other commenter, “She is pregnant, not dying. I even have stood in longer lines for longer periods of time while I used to be heavily pregnant. They need to have come prepared.”
Said one other responder, “Provided that you’ve got your personal health complaints — which you bothered to plan around — no one on this earth has the proper to come back at you.”
Still one other shared this thought: “Their failure to plan is just not your emergency.”
And yet one more person scoffed, “The entitlement of some people is insane.”
