“It’ll be really interesting to see how much this issue of differentiation defines a lot of the cultural norms that start to evolve in this new parliament,” he told Sky News Australia.

“There’s a real hunger out there in Australia for a new style of politics … to see a modern politics.”

Labor are forked tongue – they set a reset 'bait' on ABC after election with LNP then stabbed downer & co in the back on the program.

C'mon Man! Biden said the same thing and look where that ended up! The leftist version of a better style of politics is for everyone who disagrees with them to shut the hell up – but only when they are in power. When they aren't in power then apparently it is their job to vehemently speak out at every opportunity against the govt.

Maybe get me away from the supreme!
I'll never leave "the game" and that way you can look like your not Kent's while still being Kent's.
It also puts male's in the position of power again rather than having to do what that jelly senior say's all the time.
Any chick that complains I can be used as an example at the lengths women will go to destroy each other.
Then you can use my time line in a way that benifits Australia rather than focusing on one woman's obsession with another.
( I'm sure she'll "fix" me for saying that )
    Take a secret vote.
Most ppl like me more than her.
    And it eats her alive.

Our wages are barely growing while the cost of living is getting out of hand in this country as essential items (rent, education, property rates, gas, electricity etc.) rise at a rate well in excess of the inflation rate or true market value. Other items such as the cost of renewing a vehicle licence and our annual registration charges have got well out of hand. We have the most expensive passport costs in the world, along with birth certificates and other documents, and these taxes on our daily lives are continually growing as governments find new ways to reach into our pockets and help themselves.

These rises in the cost of living are driven by government taxation, be it federal, state or local, and is the reason that the cost of production of all goods and services in the economy is continually rising. Think of the tax on fuel which affects the cost of food in our supermarkets among other items, council rates, to name only a couple, and the list goes on. The burden of these continually rising taxes is experienced by us the consumers as a constant rise in the cost of living. To this cost burden we must add the extraordinarily high prices of property in this country as state governments use rising stamp duty to fund their budgets.

Despite the enormous wealth in our soils there is a section of the economy that contributes nothing to the economic wellbeing of Australia because they pay nothing in tax. Just to give one among many examples, "…. Yet, US oil major Exxon has sold a staggering $56 billion worth of oil and gas – drilled from seabeds around Australia – and paid not one red cent in tax on that income in six years.”

    michaelwest/revealed-australias-top-40-tax-dodgers-for-2021/

When big business pays little or no tax the government is forced to pass their tax burden onto the community, who experience this as an increase in the cost of all goods and services. This is how we continually experience a rise in the cost of living as governments annually lose hundreds of billions of dollars in tax revenue that should have been paid by big business.

Australians should be reaping the benefits of the wealth of this land such as its natural gas and minerals. Politicians from both Labor and the LNP need to explain why this country can sell 100 billion cubic metres of natural gas for $800 million while Qatar can sell the same quantity for $27 billion?

"…. Australia is set to become the world’s largest exporter of LNG by 2021, overtaking Qatar in the Persian Gulf.

But that year, when both countries are each forecast to export roughly 100bn cubic metres of LNG, Australia’s government is expected to receive just $800m in PRRT revenues, while Qatar’s government is expected to receive $26.6bn in royalties.”

    theguardian/…/fears-australia-losing-billio…

Total tax collected from individuals by all levels of government in 2018-2019 was $559 833 million or $559.833 billion as shown by the ABS at, abs/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/5506.0

Total tax payable by Corporate Australia in 2018-2019 was $56,137,697,940 or $56.138 billion as can be found at, data/dataset/ds-dga-c2524c87-cea4-4636-acac-599a82048a26/details .

That means we citizens contributed $559.8 billion dollars in taxes while big business was liable for only $56.1 billion dollars. This represents, 56.1/(559.8 + 56.1) x 100% = 9.1% of the total tax expected to be collected by the federal government was paid by big business.

According to the ABS the total income of big business in this period was $2,140,118,795,991 or $2140.1 billion or $2.1401 trillion and so in being liable for only $56.1 billion in tax they will only have to pay a total of 2.62% of their income.

If big business paid the same rate of tax as the rest of us, say 30%, then the total tax take from big business in 2018-19 should amount to $642 billion. Even if they were only expected to pay 20% of their income in tax then they would be liable for $428 billion. Taking it one step further, let’s say they only paid 15% of their income in tax, then they would owe the Australian people $321 billion for the 2018-19 financial year.

Such a sum would make an enormous difference to reviving our low inflation flat lining economy and to reducing the taxation burden on workers and small businesses and hence to significantly reducing the cost of living pressures we are currently experiencing.

What about our schools, universities, hospitals, aged care, child care, defence and other expenses we must meet? No wonder the cost of living has got out of hand in this country as the tax burden of big business has been transferred onto the shoulders of the community and so crushing the economic life out of it.

come on. its a joke, you couldn't even see the aussie flag there either not sure who they are speaking to. I don't know what kind parliament these people want to run, but beyond the smoke and mirrors its got to be a little bit strange to say the least: the smallest primary vote ever, and chasing after people who do not even want to call themselves aussies.

I am not going to sit here and say either that 1 the paul keating era was any good, look at that guy now, or hawke that went ok though, or rudd and gillard, its all beeen a little I don't know – meh? – for some time now hasn't it! lol

Seemed like a lecture, too, and no australian flag so it didn't really represent 97% of the country did it. Figures.

This country has corruption at the state level and a federal government who won't stand in front of the Australian flag – are they sparing us or dealing blows to us all? Might have to wait for the 48th

Oh awol is so cringeworthy. It won’t be long and we will see the albanese that was overweight and abusive in his smelly polyester suits. He’s so out of touch with the Australian people. He really will have to start thinking about the Australian people.

Wongs paid to do a job for ALL Australians. We had to put up with all the boring grifters bleating on about her arm yesterday. She’s sitting in a heated office pushing a pen!! Get to work wong. Just think about the hard working mum and dad business owners and farmers out there in this country doing it tough!! Thanks to these self promoting contemptuous self serving grifters so far removed from reality.
