Philippine Women’s National Team Head Coach Alen Stajcic says the popularity of women’s football has gone “through the roof” in the past two to three years.
He said the audience ratings of the most recent Women’s Euros tournament shows how much the game has progressed.
“It just shows the scope and the breadth that women’s football has grown,” he told Sky News Australia.
“It’s got so much more to grow in terms of professionalism on and off the field but it’s definitely starting to hit the heights a lot of people believed it could.”

If I have 10c and add $1 then the total value of $1.10 could be said to have gone through the roof compared to having 10c. But in comparison to having $100 (i.e. the men's game) it is still much less. Just like with the NRL, AFL and Cricket, no matter how much they talk up the women's versions they are nowhere near at the same level.
Let's not forget the World Cup was extended from 24 to 32 teams including teams which get beaten 14-0 the the USA in the last World Cup. How the 32nd best team fares will be interesting.

I'm in the UK and I can tell you that nobody is talking about women's football. No one has been watching it down the pub. No one is talking about the England women being in the semi final. No one cares about girls football. Sorry.
