Dr. Danielle Bernal, a veterinarian at Wellness Pet Company, told The Post that pets’ “physical well-being and keeping them fit, healthy and lively” has at all times been a priority, nevertheless it’s now in overdrive.

“As we’ve seen the evolution of our pets go from, ‘He’s only a dog who lives outside,’ to now truly a part of our relations, we not only need to be proactive of their physical well-being, but we also want to actually support their mental and emotional well-being,” she said.

Just like wellness fads within the human world, the trend is being shaped by younger generations who view pets as family members.

“This shift has placed more emphasis on pet owners providing their pets premium care that more resembles their very own wellness preferences,” Kate Onorato, pet trends expert, told The Post. “Younger pet parents are focused on natural, science-backed wellness products and wish that sort of holistic take care of their pets.”

But Bernal, who has been a veterinarian for 25 years and in pet wellness for 20, advised to at all times seek the advice of your fur baby’s vet before making any decisions.

“If you happen to are ever doubtful, take the product information and seek advice from your veterinarian so which you can at all times be assured that it’s perfect for them,” Bernal said.

From smart collars to supplements, listed below are a number of the progressive products and corporations popping up within the pet wellness space.

Water-dog

Petcube’s fountain debuted on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last month.

Water you waiting for? The identical way kids lug around their massive Stanley water bottles, Petcube touts itself as a solution to keep felines and canines hydrated with a human-grade water fountain ($99.99).

Since “hydration” is “the inspiration of well-being,” in line with Petcube CEO Anastasia Kukhar, the fountain is designed to encourage pets to drink more, higher quality H2O.

The wireless, rechargeable fountain purifies water by combining UV-C antibacterial light with a four-layer filtration system. Its magnetic pump also mimics a natural water stream, increasing water quality. The basin helps protect against bacteria, infection and “cat pimples.”

Raise the woof

Pawport isn’t only a motorized pet door that firmly closes for a weatherproof seal.

Doggy doors now have a curfew. Pawport‘s motorized smart door has a handheld remote control to establish a curfew or schedule for pups together with voice control from Alexa, Siri, or Google and data-tracking.

The door is paired with a water-resistant Smart Pet Tag that attaches to collars — and may be personalized per pet if there’s multiple.

Dogs can have their very own tablets equipped with video chat, Netflix for pups, music and more.

And while indoors, there’s Dogsplay ($699), a media box with services like Dog Filter, Dog Speaker, Dogflix, Dog Music, Dog Photo, and Dog Call & App — identical to their human’s iPad. The app allows for two-way interaction, too, for video calls while away.

The service not only entertains pets but helps keep separation anxiety and loneliness at bay.

If dogs could talk

Ever wished your BFF could seek advice from you? Shazam Band ($495-$595) — a first-of-its-kind cognitive wearable band for pets — literally gives cats and dogs a voice and personality with 27 different personas to select from that may “best reflect their pet’s inner-self.”

Over time, it’ll learn fuzzballs’ entire history and what’s normal, equivalent to respiration rate and typical day-to-day movements. Whether Rover is running, playing, resting or eating, the band will capture all of it — including what’s occurring in external environments, like if it’s raining outside or being pat by their human — through sensors and microphones.

Humans also can input information equivalent to likes, dislikes, personality traits and after they eat, sleep and exercise. Using this information, Shazam will interpret what pets are feeling and communicate that through the voice of the owner’s selecting.

Shazam Band will then voice over the pets’ needs and reactions. “So, for those who’re getting home late from work, otherwise you haven’t fed your pet on time, you’re going to listen to about it. In case your pet is scared during a thunderstorm, or encounters a rattlesnake, you’ll be the primary to know,” the corporate said.

One other standout innovation at CES 2025 was Traini’s AI-powered smart dog collar that mixes advanced AI technology with real-time emotion tracking giving a deeper look into emotional well-being.

Using sound evaluation from barks and vitals equivalent to heart rate, temperature and body movement, the AI collar can discover 10 different emotional states your dog is experiencing, including joy, anxiety, excitement and distress.

Fit mutts

“The device is not going to diagnose the condition but will function an early-warning system which will warrant a visit to a veterinarian,” Tractive CEO Michael Hurnaus explained.

Attempting to work out what your pupper wants is like barking up the mistaken tree — but a recent gadget will help.

At CES, Tractive debuted a sophisticated canine GPS and health tracker ($69-$99) with bark monitoring, which can provide insights into barking patterns while the owner is away from home. Barking patterns can recognize conditions equivalent to separation anxiety and other behavioral issues to clue within the owner.

Just like smartwatches for humans, the dog GPS & health tracker — which incorporates real-time GPS tracking, virtual fences, escape alerts and activity and sleep monitoring — also has resting heart and respiratory rate alerts through a free software update in March.

Feline fantastic

“FutureZeal understands that cats thrive when their environment is clean, temperature-controlled, and stress-free,” one expert said. “I believe of the Z3 more like a wellness sanctuary for our furry friends.”

FutureZeal Z3, the world’s first intelligent cat grooming pod, might just be the cat’s paw-jamas.

The fur removal system collects loose hair because the kitty enters and exits the pod, which has intelligent temperature regulation. There’s also a misting system for odor control and hygiene management.

“Wellness isn’t only for humans anymore,” said a veterinarian and pet wellness expert in attendance at CES 2025.

Pup-lements

“I actually began to take a deeper dive into supplements and dealing with integrative veterinarians,” Guy told The Post.

From gut health to fur maintenance, there’s a Goop-y pill to your pup for an extended and healthy life.

One such complement, Buddy ($59-$89), is designed to support a wide selection of canine health areas from joint care to digestion. Founder Guy, 34, was inspired to launch the brand when she got her own dog, Rudder, and he had some minor orthopedic issues early on.

“Through that journey with my very own dog… it really sort of like opened my eyes to a chance to not only help pets, but to assist pet owners make this journey of boosting our dog’s health lots simpler and easier,” she explained.
