Pat Sajak offered to purchase a road trip.
“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak, 76, offered contestant Henry Braxton the chance to go on a road trip after the contestant showed off his “great singing voice.”
Braxton, who’s a Louisiana native, was introduced by the longtime game show host Thursday as a trucker, but one with a special talent.
“Well it says in your card and I’m gonna take your word for it,” laughed the 76-year-old. ” You’ve an incredible singing voice.”
Braxton nodded in confirmation.
“I do,” agreed Braxton. ” I could just flat out sing, Pat.”
Braxton then gave the audience a taste of his musical prowess by belting out a number of lines of Donald Lawrence and The Tri-City Singers’ gospel song “Encourage yourself.”
The transient musical interlude gained Braxton a round of applause from the audience and his fellow contestants.
Braxton went on to have a near-perfect game only going bankrupt once.
Sajak, still impressed by Braxton’s performance from earlier, offered to take the show on the road.
“Here’s the plan,” said Sajak. “I’m leaving the show. We’re going to rent a few writers.”
“We’re taking the act on the road. What do you think that,” continued the host.
Braxton replied with an enthusiastic “let’s do it!”
Sadly, Braxton’s time on the show ended on a sour note as he failed to unravel the ultimate spin inside the closing date.
Braxton incorrectly guessed “Having one on my side” when the reply to the puzzle was “Having you by my side.”
Sajak also revealed that had he guessed accurately, the trucker would have won a brand-new Ford automobile.
The news shocked Braxton causing him to yell and jump up and down.
“It’s positive, cool beans. Thank y’all,” said Braxton after regaining his composure.
The “Wheel of Fortune” twitter account later posted Braxton’s highlight reel.
“Brb organising a Kickstarter for Pat & Henry’s tour,” reads the caption.
Several Twitter users also complimented the trucker’s voice.
“He was an awesome contestant! Loved his energy,” tweeted one user.
“Henry is a complete vibe! Best episode I’ve seen all yr,” said one other person.
“The very best! Give that man a show,” exclaimed a 3rd.
Sajak’s offer of a road trip was a pleasant respite from a slew of awkward encounters the host has recently had on the show.
One in all these more moderen encounters includes putting a wrestler in a chokehold.
The wrestler later got here forward saying that he enjoyed it.
“I loved that moment,” the player told TMZ on Friday. “That was one in every of the most important highlights of the show.”
