They didn’t protect the border.
A Delta Airlines passenger was understandably nervous after the frame encircling their window toppled off during a rocky landing, as detailed in a Reddit post taking off online.
“Whelp, it’s infrequently that things aside from wi-fi break on my flights, but this can be a first,” read the caption to the post. “Fell off once we landed.”
The accompanying photo, allegedly snapped aboard an unspecified Delta fight, shows the white border on the ground between their legs, in addition to the broken seal on the window from which it tumbled.

Delta Airlines recently weighed in on the incident. “Our cabin maintenance teams take these reports seriously and can take appropriate motion to deal with,” a spokesperson told the Post.
Reddit commenters had a field day with the mile-high equipment malfunction.
“Premium Airline experience!” snarked one commenter, while one other wrote, “I might have been very traumatized by this.”
“Wear it like a necklace as you exit the plane,” suggested a 3rd.
“That’s why I all the time carry a roll of duct tape in my rollaway,” declared one other Redditor.
Others used the fiasco as a possibility to poke fun at airline perks programs, with one wit quipping, “Send a criticism to corporate! Hopefully they are going to retire that old plane and also you get some Delta miles!”
“Ah, sorry, you didn’t purchase Exit Row PlusElite, so you possibly can’t get standard safety per the investors,” joked one other.
This isn’t the primary time things fell apart when the rubber hit the runway aboard a Delta flight.

In April, an emergency slide toppled from a Delta plane while it was within the air, forcing the Los Angeles-bound flight to return to John F. Kennedy International Airport in Recent York City.
In barely more positive news, the airline recently announced that it’s going to serve Shake Shack burgers on long-haul flights starting Dec. 1 — but only to first-class passengers.
