What a drip-off!
A Frontier Airlines passenger was horrified to find her under-the-seat carry-on bag was soaked with urine following a recent flight — and shocked when airline staffers waved off her complaints.
The soggy saga unfolded on a Seattle-Dallas sojourn in early June — and went public after a member of the family shared the trickle-down theory in a preferred Reddit post asking experienced travelers get the budget carrier to shoulder the bladder burden.
The passenger’s sister explained that throughout the flight, the backpack was stored under the seat in front of her, and when she went to grab it when the flight was over, she realized it was “soaked.”
“She assumed perhaps water or soda, but when she tried to dry it off within the airplane bathroom, the paper towels got here out yellow,” the post said.
“She’s 99% sure the person sitting within the seat in front of her peed throughout the flight and it leaked onto her backpack.”
Right after deplaning, the passenger went right to the gate to attempt to report it, but “the staff there principally brushed her off” and told her to go to the ticket counter.
When she did that, they then sent her to the supervisor.
“She’s literally carrying around pee soaked paper towels as evidence while getting bounced across the airport trying to seek out someone who will take her seriously,” the Reddit user wrote.
A manager admitted that they’d to call the overall manager since they didn’t know handle the situation because “nothing like this has happened before.”

They eventually told her that Frontier couldn’t do anything in regards to the situation and he or she would should “settle it with the passenger.”
The poster found this recommendation to be “ridiculous.”
“Who of their right mind goes to confront someone, but additionally confront someone about an unknown bodily fluids???” they questioned.
“This whole thing just feels… so gross and fallacious. A bodily fluid soaks her personal belongings, and he or she’s being told she’s on her own?”

One user who claimed to be a Frontier flight attendant commented on the post claimed that “Frontier doesn’t care in regards to the cleanliness of our planes.”
“Frontier doesn’t consider anything a biohazard unless it visibly incorporates blood (even when there may be an inexpensive possibility of it containing blood, comparable to urine, feces, or vomit).”
“We also don’t have cleaners. FAs pick up trash from the seatback pockets and GAs are purported to do every thing else. Most times if there may be stuff on the seats we are able to’t get them to do anything. The times they’ve had to wash them, as a result of something extreme like vomit, all they’ve done is evenly wipe the seat with some paper towels and perhaps some basic cleansing spray.”
The Post has contacted the airline for comment.
Meanwhile, Frontier’s contract of carriage states that the airline will not be chargeable for incidents just like the one described.
“Frontier won’t be accountable for loss or damage to carry-on baggage unless such damage is attributable to Frontier’s or its agent’s negligence, which doesn’t include damage resulting from turbulence, shifting of things during flight, or peculiar handling, including placing the luggage in overhead compartments or under seats.”
