More than 33 million people in Pakistan, one in seven of the population, have been affected by the flooding, officials estimate.
This year’s record monsoon is comparable to the devastating floods of 2010, the deadliest in Pakistan’s history, which left more than 2,000 people dead.
UN chief Antonio Guterres has warned that Pakistan is facing “a monsoon on steroids”, after floods submerged a third of the country.
As he launched a $160 million appeal to help the tens of millions affected by the disaster, Guterres urged the world to come to Pakistan’s aid.

The current floods too are being viewed as a great opportunity by this corrupt Mafia ,at the second and third tiers , with lucrative openings in the arenas of reconstruction and rehabilitation , but Zardari and his close associates are apprehensive with looming presentiments of the approaching end——perhaps their pay-back time has finally come !

Availing every opportunity for photo-ops , these political racketeers have done precious little to bring succour to pain and desperation of the flood victims .
On the other hand ,one has to regularly bear the agony of watching a dozen or more press conferences a day , against their lone political opponent with hardly any mention of the colossal calamity that has struck the country . And the “sell-out”, “Lifafa”, media , doing it’s dirty bit by going all out ,in putting a malicious spin on every real or perceived misstep of that lone political opponent .
It is clear as daylight that this gang of political racketeers, who have had multiple opportunities to filch away and fleece the national resources over the past forty years , are not only corrupt to their teeth , but totally incapable and inept to steer the country out of it’s massive troubles . Continuing to support them would be colossal disfavour not only to the country but it’s people . It would amount to letting this nation run blind circles in the maze of debt and deprivation eternally ,with it’s begging bowl held out and the grand dream of it’s genesis for ever lost .
