Every year, Mississippi gets $86 million in welfare money from the federal government, however, the state rejects 90 percent of those who apply. The head of the welfare agency “squandered” the funds, the state alleges, including $5 million to build a women’s volleyball facility with ties to NFL hall of famer Brett Favre. Favre, who declined to talk to NBC News, was questioned by the FBI, his attorney says, never knew the funds came from welfare money, and paid it back after demands by state officials. Favre has not been accused or charged with a crime.

Can I tell yall a secret Black people are made poor intentionally by the government and Whites in general, they have all the connections, I'm not saying all whites but history shows that most laws, bills, written as far back as the GI bill is intentionally built to build up the upper class whites and make the blacks poorer sure a small group of blacks will benefit from some bill but a large majority of blacks will be come poorer.

  22. Randall Reed says:

Brett Favre is a home-grown, born-and-bred, Mississippian. A very, very rich Mississippian. I think it is not possible that he did not know what pot of money was was being used to fund the volleyball venue. Could he have ponied up to gift it to his alma mater himself, out of his own pocket or from his rich friends? Of course. But that is not the way they do things in the poorest state in the Union. Favre is disgusting.

  23. Marie Ruiz says:

Unfortunately nobody really cares about those who are disabled and living on Social Security. Did you know that the maximum a person with 100% disability makes per year is $11,000. Totally true I am 100% disabled and that is what I make each year even though the cost of living has skyrocketed they have done nothing. Then to find out somebody I looked up to was taking money that should have been given to us for their own personal greed sickens me. How is it that we are supposed to live on $11,000 a year? Why is it that we only get $11,000 a year? The poverty line is almost three times what we get. This is obvious a huge sign that every state is probably up to scandalous mischievous selfish self-serving stealing from the very poor. God help us poor people. Unfortunately most people don't care about poor people unless they are poor themselves this world is a very selfish selfish world filled with a bunch of people that steal from the poor to make themselves wealthier. Everyday I lose more and more faith in our government. This kind of stuff happens all the time and is rarely ever brought to the light shame on you Brett Favre I will be throwing away my autographed football that I got from you in Lambeau and I will also be throwing away New Jersey. To all you crooked selfish politicians and people out there I hope your karma is Swift and I hope that you lose everything.
