No public money to private companies. They have been after our money for decades. This is not new. Look who is leading this idea. Conseratives cut spending in healthcare then say, our healthcare isn't enough. They have tried this many times before. Private healthcare means no health care for you. Sorry, correction. There is healthcare available but you can't afford it.

  2. Devolutionone says:

So this is what all that was about, privatization and more money, always more money, greed has no end.

  3. Adam Rogers says:

Canda and the states are the two worst health care models. One public the other private. All eu models are a blend of both and they stand out as some of the best. The ndp are clueless

Ontario should just be voting for Doug Ford until there's nothing left of it.

There is no way for Jagmeet to be a hero in just fixing the current system. He would rather get his name in the history books for implementing other badly ran enterprises that we can't afford like free dental and drugs. Sure the Country may go bankrupt but think of how famous he would be for a bit. All heroes don't wear capes….sighhh..

    for profit = sacrificing lives.
look at the conditions in private long term care homes.
stray dogs are treated better than private health care.

Way to go Mr Singh… keep it simple..such clear and common sense solutions!! Plus pair it with innovation in Canadian health care to increase preventative care.

  15. robert cartwright says:

Healthcare and capitalism are a bad fit. They express contrary human impulses, on the one hand the humanitarian impulse to help others in need, and on the other the selfish impulse to enrich one's self. The example of the U.S. shows which impulse wins out when a society combines them. Investors are dying to privatise our health system; a sick person's in a poor bargaining position, and consequently a for profit system can really put the screws to them. They have to pay! Private equity licks its lips at the thought.

  16. Monkey Time says:

We live on the border with the USA. If you want expensive private health care, just go there for it. Pay them and they will treat you. Meanwhile leave public health care in Canada so nobody is too poor for good care.

Our health care system was one of the best in the world. Set up by NDP great Tommy Douglas. Jack Layton was all about the middle class and would of talked with our truckers. Sorry sir…you are not honourable. You destroyed the legacy of the NDP.

  26. DavidtheNorseman says:

The funny thing is that we already have access to privatized health care – we can just go the US (or anywhere like Switzerland) and pay for it. Why should my tax dollars go to make the shareholders richer while making health care inaccessible to most Canadians? The rich can already get private health care if they want to pay for it. Every time they try anything like this in Canada the first thing the private groups demand is access to all the tax funded equipment like MRI's at the expense of the public use. I disagree with Jagmeet Singh on most issues but on this one he is correct.

Bureaucracy is the biggest impediment on our healthcare system. The only thing government excels at is bureaucracy. The Canadian “system” is not efficient!!! If Canada/ BC slashed safe injection zones and Narcan programs how much money would be available to hire new doctors and nurses to support contributing members of society? How many more ambulances would be available if paramedics weren’t called to revive the same junkie several times per week?

  36. Kristan Price says:

If this is such a huge problem and the liberals don’t want to do anything about it, you hold the power to bring these liberals down, AND YOU WONT DO IT!!!!!! You have no right to complain period.
