The research was gathered on TikTok over a 30-day period.
The variety of posts per royal subject were nearly equal, with 6,000 for William, Harry and Markle and 5,000 for Middleton.
But Harry had probably the most posts about him overall, at 140,000, and probably the most views at 13 billion, followed by Markle, who had 115,000 posts and 11 billion views overall.
William had 79,000 posts, with 11 billion views, and Middleton got here in at 65,000 posts, with 10 billion views.
The study explored popular search terms for every royal member of the family — a few of Middleton’s included “tennis,” “rude,” “paparazzi,” and “coronation.”
Markle’s were “divorce,” “prince harry,” “being rude,” “narcissistic,” and “awkward.”
“From this data, it looks like the gang on TikTok is looking for negative behavior,” Kwok said about Markle.
The 2 most-liked videos on TikTok about Markle were positive — each posted by the account for the now-canceled Ellen DeGeneres daytime show. Neither were fan videos.
Two of the three videos next on the list were “definitely negative” towards Markle and were generated by fans.
Essentially the most-liked video on the platform for Middleton was a video from The Independent’s account that showed her at Wimbledon.
“The group on TikTok loves to check the 2, but the general consensus is that they appear to favor Kate,” Kwok said.
Harry’s top search terms were “Meghan,” “divorce,” “court case” and “audiobook.”
“Top videos show clips of him and Queen Elizabeth, speculations of divorce with Meghan / various conspiracy theories about their relationship, and clips of him and Princess Diana,” Kwok told Newsweek about Harry.
William, meanwhile, is captured “in a positive light on social media,” along with his TikTok keywords including “young” and “Kate.”
Lots of the videos made about him highlight his “dedication as a dad” or his relationship with Middleton, the outlet reported.
