He didn't try to stab Zeldin. He was trying to grab the mic. Notice the open hand, the pointy cat ears turned away from Zeldin's body, as the man reaches for the microphone. Notice how he immediately pulls his arm back when Zeldin grabs him.

Watch the video. He wasn't assaulted. The "attacker" put his hand on Zeldin's shoulder, then Zeldin grabbed his wrist. He was never touched with this "weapon" which probably wouldn't' have caused much harm at all. The right blows everything out of proportion. Are all the folks who truly attacked police and attempted to get at members of Congress all going to spend 10 years in prison?
Just a really odd "attack" and "defense". I'm not saying it's staged…..it just looks the part.
That's one of the weakest attacks……along with the most lackadaisical defense I've ever seen. Just sayin….if someone rushed me with a pointed weapon……I'm going to drop the microphone and make sure he's not able to plunge forward with it…..
