NASCAR driver Kyle Larson is a fan of racing movies — but has mixed feelings about one comedy.
Earlier this week, he revealed a few of his favorite racing movies on Julian Edelman’s podcast “Games With Names,” an inventory that included “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.”
Nevertheless, Larson believed the movie did some damage to the game of racing.

“I mean, I just like the movie,” Larson said of the favored Will Ferrell movie. “I feel it didn’t do anything good for our sport. I feel it turned our sport right into a joke, unfortunately. But that’s one of the vital popular racing movies … I feel like the remaining of the world — that’s what they consider our sport now.”
“Talladega Nights” is a movie a couple of fictional NASCAR driver, Ricky Bobby, who needs to construct things back up to succeed in the highest of the racing world again. While fans give the movie a 73 percent rating on the favored aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Larson isn’t the one racer who thinks the movie is an inadequate representation of the game.
Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron, who ranks first within the NASCAR Cup standings, backed him up on X, writing: “100%. Shouldn’t be the very first thing people consider.”
The 2 are removed from the primary two to talk on the movie.
Racer Bubba Wallace also didn’t just like the movie’s depiction of the game.

He revealed his feelings in regards to the movie on the “Rubbin’ is Racing” podcast in February.
“Bad. It’s not like a great racing movie,” Wallace said. “It’s only a comedy. I remember watching it, I feel I used to be highschool, possibly like a freshman or something, and I seen that come out and I used to be like, ‘They’re making fun of our sport.’ And I used to be like, ‘That’s not right.’ But then I’ve watched it multiple times now and I’m like, ‘Ah, OK, some scenes are funny’ … however it’s Will Ferrell.
“Love him as an actor obviously.”
