Kate Beckinsale shared the heroic efforts of her “Much Ado About Nothing” co-stars Keanu Reeves and Robert Sean Leonard — 30 years after a near-disastrous wardrobe malfunction.
In celebration of her return to the Cannes Film Festival, Beckinsale posted an Instagram photo Monday that captures her between the leading men of the 1993 flick.
Sharing a “fun fact” concerning the event, the 49-year-old actress reflected on her gray and green tie-dye-colored bodysuit with an identical shawl.
“I had bought the bodysuit within the Sock Shop on the airport and after I got within the automobile to drive to the premiere with Denzel and Pauletta Washington, all of the poppers within the crotch popped themselves open and it flipped up like a roller blind,” she confessed.
The “Pot-au-Feu” star recalled that she felt it will be inappropriate to regulate her garment in front of the Washingtons, so she “quietly panicked” as a substitute.
“Walked out onto the most important red carpet of my life and whispered to Keanu and Robert Sean Leonard what had happened. On this picture I’m holding the front gusset down and the 2 of them are holding the back gusset,” Beckinsale continued.
“Absolute legends who may not even have fully understood the physics of what was happening and even heard the word ‘gusset’ before, but each jumped in to save lots of me no questions asked x.”
The Post has contacted Beckinsale, Reeves and Leonard for comment.
Beckinsale’s most up-to-date Cannes appearance sparked cosmetic surgery accusations from fans — which she sharply denied.
“No threads no thread lift no Botox no laser no nose job no filler,” she responded to a fan on Instagram who swore Beckinsale had a face-lift “since it’s impossible to be this gorgeous at 50.”
She added that she gets “facials with prp to spice up collagen and micro current for skin tightening and oxygen.”
“I probably would try laser but I’m a bit scared. Haven’t to date,” Beckinsale revealed.
One commenter didn’t buy that explanation and asked why celebrities “deny their face procedures.”
“I haven’t had a facelift or filler or Botox. I’m not lying and I don’t have to simply accept people accusing me of things I haven’t done,” Beckinsale doubled down.
