The Rangers’ third unsuccessful run at acquiring J.T. Miller is behind them, the failed weekend talks having gone quiet for a minimum of the moment after discussions proximate to the 2022 trade deadline and conversations this last November didn’t reach fruition.
The attempt to amass Miller may grow to be more complicated if the 31-year-old winger is willing to waive his no-move clause to other destinations. If it is actually Latest York or Nowhere, the Rangers and GM Chris Drury have a good amount of control over the method.
But when Miller at this point is willing to go to Carolina, Latest Jersey or other East Coast locations, the equation becomes more complex.
The motivation to reacquire the team’s fifteenth selection within the 2011 entry draft was to not have him in place for a drive to secure a wild-card spot. The motivation was to have Miller in place as a top-six linchpin for a run on the Stanley Cup whether that comes sooner or slightly bit later.
