It wasn’t a hero’s welcome for Hollywood Hulk.
WWE legend Hulk Hogan made a surprise appearance this week at Netflix‘s “Monday Night Raw” in Los Angeles — but faced a sea of boos throughout his speech while he addressed the gang.
The Hulkster, 72, entered the fan-packed Intuitive Dome in Inglewood to his classic walk-out song “Real American,” donning a shirt from his Real American Beer brand alongside his longtime on-screen manager Jimmy Hart.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, tried hyping up the unruly crowd by talking about his legacy within the wrestling business and crediting the fans because the “biggest tag team partner” he’s had in his lengthy profession.
“You, the fans, have been my biggest tag team partner since you guys have stuck with me through thick and thin dudes,” Hogan said while being drowned out by boos.
The retired skilled wrestler then promoted his Real American Beer brand.
“You already know, I got a recent tag team partner straight away. I got Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer that I’ve teamed up,” he shouted into the mic.
“And prior to now, I’ve had a complete bunch of partners down the road. I’ve had incredible partners like ‘ooh ya’ the Macho Man Randy Savage. I’ve had giant-size partners, like Andre the Giant.”
Nonetheless, the Hulkster told the gang they were watching history within the making with the “biggest partner the WWE has ever had.”
“But the best partner the WWE has ever had, is the indisputable fact that tonight, we’re making history, and the WWE has tag teamed up with Netflix, the best tag team partner of all time,” Hogan said, still being loudly booed by the audience as he ended his speech to his iconic walkout music.
The WWE announced a multi-year partnership with “Real American Beer” in a press release just hours before Raw kicked off.
“Well, let me let you know something brother! From the primary time I stepped into the ring, I’ve at all times fought for something greater than myself,” Hogan said.
“I’m thrilled to bring Real American Beer into the ring with WWE. Together, we’re bringing that pride to America, one beer, one match at a time, brother!”
Hogan began his wrestling profession in 1977.
By the early Nineteen Eighties, he had turn into the face of the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), and his persona within the ring quickly made him an American icon.
During his profession, he won the WWF Championship five times and was the primary wrestler to win consecutive Royal Rumble matches in 1990 and 1991.
Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and again in 2020.
