Before her death she appointed a nuke happy prime minister. Charles the friend of Jimmy Saville will be king.

Why do they have to say "is dead" and not "has died"? Sounds somewhat more disrespectful to me

Strange. For some reason I thought she would never die during lifetime. In the back of my mind I felt she'd live to a record-breaking age, or somehow I'd die before her. I just couldn't imagine her dying. Seemed impossible.

BBC & U.K. channels and the commonwealth briefly interrupted normal programming not RTE in Ireland, just carried on normal programming as usual.

Indeed, she devoted her whole life, right up to the day she died. What an great Monarch Queen Leader and a great Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Woman! Who else agree?

REQUIESCET IN PACE I'm very sorry for the loss to all Britishers, a Queen whom I continue to admire a lot. 2 days ago I was talking to my wife, about her, that it would be very tragic for the world to lose who the English monarchy has served. Mexico had the honor of being received in the United Kingdom, in an official visit to the President of Mexico in 2015, these being the queen's words: "Prince Felipe and I have warm memories of our visits to Mexico in 1975 and 1983, and We were also very pleased that just a few months ago the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall enjoyed an unforgettable visit to their country"

Those presenters saying 'Queen/King of England' made a serious mistake. Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Realm – 'Queen of England' is an anachronism that hasn't existed since 1707

She was the last link in monarchy to a world before WW2, to a world most of us alive today, know nothing about, that in itself brings down the curtains on an era. May your rest in peace your Majesty Queen 👑 Elizabeth II

Flags flying half mass here in the US, you don't usually see it at half for foreign leader deaths, so it's a pretty big deal here too. The end of an era.
