A recent health tech startup called Cercle launched Wednesday and announced major global partners and investors, including Meta‘s former COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Cercle uses artificial intelligence to attempt to advance women’s health, particularly inside fertility care. The corporate’s platform organizes unstructured medical data, similar to medical records and test results, right into a standardized format for fertility doctors and researchers, within the hopes it’ll help clinicians develop more personalized treatment plans and speed up recent discoveries in pharmaceuticals.

As an example, if a patient desires to freeze her eggs, her doctor can use Cercle’s platform to take a look at data from similar patients who’ve also had their eggs frozen. The knowledge is de-identified and anonymous, in response to Cercle, however the physician can see what type of treatments helped or didn’t, then use that information to develop a more personalized plan of motion.

“That is the founding mission behind Cercle, to personalize and contextualize biomedical and genomics information so women could make higher, more informed health decisions,” Cercle CEO and co-founder Juan Carlos Riveiro said in a release Wednesday.

Cercle’s lead investors include Sandberg and her husband Tom Bernthal through their recent enterprise fund, Sandberg Bernthal Enterprise Partners, Cercle announced. Sandberg left her role as COO of Meta in June of 2022, and her fund will probably be “investing, supporting and scaling alongside great entrepreneurs,” in response to its LinkedIn page.

Cercle can also be partnering with the genetics company Eurofins Genoma, in addition to US Fertility, the nation’s largest fertility network that supports greater than 100 clinics.

Cercle said it’ll initially give attention to fertility care but plans to expand to other areas inside women’s health.
