If this is so, why not return home where you can do it openly with people of your kind.

People that want to live there must be supportive of the Afrikaner culture and language. Being critical of that is unfortunate because those wanting to live on their own are vilified. Keep in mind that South Africa is a very violent country that has the highest murder rate in the world and it is in fact higher than in some war zones. Is it unreasonable for a minority like the Afrkaners to feel threatened and vulnerable in a country that discriminates against them and where the regime's leaders openly call for their brutal murder?
