Gigi Hadid cries over fame, reveals she's in therapy

The supermodel, 27, boohooed over fame and its downsides in a latest interview with Elle magazine, where she appears on the quilt of the March issue.

When asked what people wouldn’t learn about her from reading headlines or social media posts, her eyes began to well up.

“I’m getting emotional [thinking about it],” Hadid replied. “I feel that I’m someone who you have got to be in front of to experience. It’s not hard. This isn’t a grievance. It’s more that in my job, you see a variety of snapshots.”

As she wiped away tears and excused the interviewer’s apology for making her cry, she continued, “No, it’s advantageous. Apparently, I needed to say it. There are a variety of snapshots and really quick moments where, again, there’s not a variety of context given.”

The supermodel opened up about the struggle of being famous and dealing with backlash during an interview with Elle Magazine this week, and cried in the process. — “Having a daughter, even though it shifted my life to make me really need to feel more settled, has also really made me appreciate the chaos as well,” Hadid told Elle.

She added that she and her younger sister, Bella Hadid, are in therapy to assist them take care of challenges of the modeling industry.

Hadid has not been shy about sharing her mental health struggles. In 2016, she revealed she suffers from anxiety, and last yr, she told Vogue she battles “imposter syndrome” quite a bit.

The supermodel also claimed that friend and tennis star Serena Williams had given her advice for dealing with backlash from the press. — “I’ve had early experiences where you learn the way the world reacts once you share things in certain ways. Sometimes you only leave something feeling such as you were taken out of context,” she explained to the outlet.

While speaking with Elle, the Guest in Residence knitwear brand entrepreneur also disclosed that one in every of her famous friends has given her advice about ignoring negative headlines.

“Serena Williams once told me, ‘Nothing stays within the press longer than three weeks,’” Hadid told the outlet. “You possibly can feel like your life is ending… [but] if it’s a mistake, then it’s going to pass. I feel it’s about not taking yourself that seriously and being like, ‘Once I am on my deathbed, I’m not going to keep in mind that one awkward interview from after I was 19.’”

She also revealed that both she and her younger sister, Bella Hadid, are in therapy. — “I got pregnant and I actually began to take into consideration what I wanted after, when the world opened back up. “I’m getting emotional [thinking about it], — “Being at shows and shoots and just being in town again; being around friends [after] becoming a mom, with everyone also coming out of COVID — I even have an appreciation for either side of it,” Hadid revealed within the Elle interview.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in October, Hadid’s mom, Yolanda, insisted that Khai is a “reincarnation” of her own mom, Ans van den Herik, who died in 2019.

“I feel like my mom got here back on this little miniature, incredible little human being,” the previous “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star explained. “She does things, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that’s my mom.’”

Hadid was first linked to actor Leonardo DiCaprio in September during last season’s NYFW after they were spotted at a loft party and at Casa Cipriani. Things appeared to fizzle out by December though.
