While those that work on board should at all times be looking out for any funny business that may put passengers and crew members’ safety in danger — an airline steward may need taken their job a bit too seriously.
A flight attendant took to the r/flightattendants subreddit on Reddit (the post has now been deleted, but excerpts were shared by One Mile At A Time) to share the story of how they apparently got suspended for arresting their colleague — and asked for advice on how you can handle this example.
And the rationale for the citizen’s arrest has people’s jaws on the ground.
The crewmember began off their post by explaining how they were working with “difficult” colleagues and that they prefer to stay on top of every thing that is occurring within the cabin.

“I went to the aft galley and inspected the carts and made sure every thing was packed up and accomplished in accordance with company policy. Thankfully, it was, which saved me needing to file an incident report, and I counted there have been 4 snack boxes remaining,” they wrote.
Recalling that considered one of their fellow flight attendants mentioned that they were hungry — the poster took it upon themselves to double-check the carts. Lo and behold, supposedly, there was a snack box missing.
“I didn’t raise it with the crew member, but immediately rang the Captain and requested a supervisor meet us on the gate,” they explained.
“By the point all pax had disembarked, the supervisor had still not arrived, so I told the crew they were unable to depart and so they weren’t under any circumstances to the touch or move their baggage.”
To make this example much more dramatic — the accusing flight attendant blocked the essential cabin door with a service cart to stop any crewmembers from getting off the plane.
In doing so, they unintentionally made their fellow “stealing” flight attendant fall over.

Although this poster claimed they were looking for the airline they worked for — they ended up getting suspended for this bizarre motion.
And as expected, Reddit users went off on them.
“Don’t be a pathetic snitch at your next job,” one person advised.
“This whole post lacks self-awareness. I don’t understand why some FAs need to dedicate their lives into making other FAs miserable, especially for a corporation that would replace you straight away. Just let people be. You bought the results you deserve,” read one other comment.
“Karma got you real quick. Don’t be a snitch and mind your individual business. You don’t know other people’s struggle….” wrote another person.
“That is a completely over-the-top response. Make a report in the event you really feel it’s that needed…over a snack box. But you will have no right to not only hold people hostage (again, over a snack box), but then find yourself assaulting a co-worker….over a snack box. Which she didn’t even find yourself having on her.”
