FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has issued an order for Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores, citing a pattern of surreptitious data storage and access. The FCC gave Apple and Google until July 8 to respond. CBS News tech reporter Dan Patterson joins anchors Tanya Rivero and Nikki Battiste to explain the controversy.

The FCC isn't wrong. Tik Tok is definitely a data mine for China. But if the FCC wants to stay honest, Google, Meta, and Apple exploit their users too.

If you follow right side social media, people would have deleted this app a couple years ago! Only now will the left learn this. Too late! Our own government sold our data to China! Because America is in debt to China. It shouldn’t be difficult for our government to control a Chinese media app.

Remember that Republicans used a years-prior social media post by AOC, to try to destroy her political career, as a deliberate and calculated strategy. The social video clip was of AOC doing a dance routine as a college student and the Republicans attempted to use it to shame AOC into submission. SOCIAL MEDIA CAN BE USED FOR BLACKMAIL very easily, similarly.

Remember when Trump was "negotiating" with China, after one of their tech executives was jailed, for espionage activities connected to their company?

At the time, the US Military had already identified Tik Tok as a potential security breach threat, but did that stop the loud mouthed Big-Shot-in Chief, from "negotiating", over Tik Tok- (Not one bit!) It showed, either DT's ignorance of National Security & foreign affairs (or, once again, betrayed his allegiance to money, and publicity!)

Just a few months later, Trump's administration green-lighted a so-called merger, in which an American company was supposedly taking over mgmt of Tik Tok, and just a few yrs later, here we are, with yet another major privacy & data breach, by a foreign power.

This is what happens when money-grubbing politicians are allowed to put their own interests ahead of the American people's, and dismantle our institutions in the name of "deregulation" – (What they're really doing is skirting our laws, so that they &/or their political cronies (ie: donors) can make a buck!1) Because, the rules don't apply to them!

All social media, regardless of platform uses your personal information. Regardless if you give consent or not. Your privacy means nothing now a days.
If something is gonna happen to your identity. It will happen.
This is more of a platform war. FB vs Tiktok vs Whomever else.

If you want privacy, disconnect from the internet, paint over ever camera in your home, then fill every microphone with superglue. Wear a full face covering in public and do not talk to anybody. Otherwise, everything you say and do is or can be monitored by the worst actors on the planet, our police, corporate America and public officials. Tik tok is no more dangerous than any other social media.

The US gov cannot keep on deferring a matter of national security. We pay taxes. In return we demand to at least have our data protected from alien states, especially CCP. What the heck is this? Tiktok is sending biometrics to the CCP and you don't do anything?
