A joint investigation by DW and more than 40 media outlets has revealed how Uber aggressively lobbied governments and potentially even skirted some laws as it expanded its ride-sharing service.
A trove of leaked documents suggests Uber hid information from investigators in the Netherlands by remotely killing internal devices in its Amsterdam office. It also details the close relationship between Uber and then French Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron at a time when the company was trying to avoid French regulations. Macron gave the company direct access to his staff.

No surprise, many politicians if not all get shady money for political favors. Even the "Big Guy" that Hunter Biden knows gets his 10 percent of all money Hunter got whilst dealing with Chinese businesses.

Well it’s all happened here in Australia, our corrupt government give approval to Uber to start illegal business in Australia in return for lots a money to political parties. Melbourne airport has sold the international taxi rank to Uber for huge amount off money and move the taxi rank far away so no one knows that taxi exist. That’s haw Australian government protect their workers.

What is a scandal is the fact that for decades the taxi licenses have been used for speculation.

The taxi industry has actually been under-regulated with regards to the licenses, where everybody could buy them and sell them at the price they wanted.

I feel really sorry for the taxi drivers, as it’s not their fault. Now, once said that, I rather pay my money to a company like Uber, that has improved the service introducing the mobile app, knowing beforehand the price of the ride, etc than to a bank or investor VULTURE that is stilling everybody’s money for no reason. Sorry but NO WAY.

AND the way of fixing this is not over-regulating Uber, but forcing those VULTURES to sell the licenses at a reasonable cheap price and force them to loose money if needed.

To be clear, I love free market and free competition, BUT I hate cheaters and speculators, and when it comes to these, I do believe that regulations need to be in place to force these vultures out of the system. They don’t improve anything, they don add value to society, they are there just to increase the prices of everything and make us pay for it. Outrageous that the system still allows this to happen.

What do you mean potentially skirted laws? Every time Uber has been banned from a jurisdiction they’ve openly flouted it and guaranteed driver’s legal fees. Have you Germans picked up a New York Times in the last 5 years?

Meanwhile in The Netherlands another lobby situation related to Uber surfaced: Former European Commissioner and VVD celebrity Neelie Kroes who lobbied for the American taxi company Uber in 2015 and 2016, after the European Commission banned her from working for the company during her 'cooling off period'…

I feel those who would allow the market dynamism to determine when to trade or not are either new in space generally or probably just naïve, the sphere have seen far worse times than this, enlightened traders continue to make good use of the dip and pump even acquiring more equities towards trading sessions, I'd say that more emphasis should be put into trading since it is way profitable than hodling. Trading went smooth for me as I was able to raise over 11.4 BTC when I started at 1.5 BTC in just a few weeks implementing trades with signals and insights from Thomas Andrew, I would advise y'all to trade your asset rather than hodl for a future you aren't sure about or hold it and risk losing all….

Unemployment keeps surging and bills wait for no one that’s why we have to figure new ways to make an income, I came here to learn how to trade after listening to a guy on radio talk about the importance of investing and how he made $210,000 in 4 months from $30k. Somehow this video has helped shed light on some things, but I'm confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas
