Zach Wilson is getting advice he has never received before.
The Dolphins quarterback told reporters he has been told by his recent coaches that he has been late on a few of his throws.
“It’s crazy because I’ve never been told before at past places like, ‘Hey, you’re late.’” Wilson said Wednesday after Miami’s practice. “Even with a powerful arm, it’s not like, ‘Hey, you’re late on this throw.’”
Wilson has now been within the league for five seasons and just joined the Dolphins in March after three years with the Jets and one with the Broncos..
The 25-year-old points to his receivers for a reason why he’s finally getting these notes.
While some could think that this can be a dig on the Dolphins’ receiving core, it is sort of the alternative.
“We’ve a lot speed,” Wilson said about his receiver group. “I actually have to trust this receiver goes to be there.”
For Wilson, the following pointers may need been helpful when the quarterback was within the Big Apple, as he didn’t have much success during his stint with Gang Green.
When the Jets drafted Wilson in 2021, he was seen as a savior for a team that has had a perpetual quarterback problem.
Unfortunately, Wilson didn’t bring relief to that issue and have become an element of the establishment.
In his three seasons in Recent York, Wilson had a record of 12-21 and threw 23 touchdowns with 25 interceptions.
The previous second overall pick was then traded away to Denver for only a sixth-round pick before the 2024 season.
Wilson has not been an NFL starter for the reason that 2023 season, and the 2025 season is not any different, as he’s sitting behind Tua Tagovailoa.
As history has shown, though, Tagovailoa has had quite a lot of trouble staying healthy during his seasons within the NFL.
If an injury were to occur to Tagovailoa, it could give Wilson a probability to showcase what he has learned.
