Pat's recent comments about the threat to freedoms and rights in America is also spot on. Book banning, women's rights being eliminated, the removal of health and safety standards, the open racism, the mass shootings, tax benefits for the rich at the expense of the poor – these are just some of the awful things the current Republican party stands for. This is why after 12 years of being a loyal Republican I left the Republican party in about 1993 and have never looked back. I have been independent and not registered with any party ever since then but I tend to now vote Dem because even though they are not the smartest group of people and I don't agree with their far left crazy BS at all I do think Dems tend to serve ALL Americans much better than Republicans. If there were such a thing as a moderate and decent Republican candidate I would probably vote for them but there is no such thing any more. The fact that Republicans support and defend openly traitorous acts like Jan 6 and Trumps egregious security violations is something that I could never, ever agree with under any circumstances. Its indefensible for any true American patriot. When I hear someone like Pat Ryan openly state the beliefs that I too share I don't think Rep or Dem, I just think I think there is still some decent non extremist people left, there is still hope for America and that the monkeys are not completely running the Zoo.
